RWBY, pronounced "Ruby", is a syfy-fantasy, american anime and is the first web based anime series. It takes place in the fictional world of Remnant and is centered around a team (RWBY) at a combat school for huntsmen and huntresses: people who fight against the evil, supernatural forces in the world of Remnant. The main characters are Ruby Rose (team leader), Weiss Schnee, Blake Belladonna, and Yang Xiao Long.

The show is made and distributed by Rooster Teeth Productions. Their series is web based so the series is premiered on their website roosterteeth.com and is shown to (paid) sponsors of the website at a sooner time before it is released to the general public, then is later added to their YouTube channel. Netflix has also bought the first two seasons of RWBY. Rooster Teeth sells merchandise, DvD's and CD's as well.
