Jailbirds is a Netflix six-part documentary that shows the life of prison inmates in the Sacramento County Jail. The documentary follows the lives of seven female inmates, Yasmin, Noonie, Shawn, Monster, Drea, Baby Girl, and Tayler, as they try to live their lives from the comfort of jail. Jailbirds does a great job of capturing the true essence of what prison life is really like ranging from showing events of solidarity and unity between the inmates to violence and drama. The show is also in the works for season 2 in which we will be introduced to new inmates and it will also let us see how released inmates have been living their lives after jail.

It features Sacha Baron Cohen (who you may know from Borat) as the lead actor and also the executive director. Some of these interviews ended up becoming very controversial and some politicians even lost their jobs over the outrageous statements they made. Sacha Baron Cohen has a unique style of being able to get good reactions out of people by using satire.Sacha Baron Cohen is also known for having great disguises and being very hard to recognize. I personally really liked the series, however it is very offensive in some episodes and was hard to find a clip that was appropriate to show during class.

He utilizes the community by taking advice from the local fisherman while sometimes bringing men with him to help guide or assist him on these long and treacherous journeys. This action-adventure series also shows how these river monsters are constructed to kill, and while all the fish may not live up to expectations, many will leave you stunned.

The story follows Lyra through a dangerous world. She learns that trust is dangerous very early on. Her first lesson in trust kicked the show off to a riveting start. She entrusted a woman named Marisa Coulter, played by Ruth Wilson, who was not who she seemed to be. She was much more important than Lyra could have imagined. Protected and sheltered in adolescence, Lyra longed to join the world. Once she was thrust into the world, she found herself in many situations and in many plots with no answer in sight. Lyra never expected she would be as important as she was. Kidding is a fictionalized dramatic, comedy following the life of Jeff Pickles, a Mr. Rodgers-esque children's show host. Jim Carrey plays Jeff Pickles, a kind, neurotic, child-like man who hosts the largest and longest-running children's program in the world. Kidding follows Pickles shortly after the tragic death of his 14-year-old son and from there devolves into a character study of a saint-like man who struggles to deal with his own mental health while maintaining a positive, unbothered image for his famous TV show. With great production, directing, and creative editing, this is a very compelling series that may not receive as much recognition because it streams on Showtime. However, Showtime has given much creative liberty to its executive producers: Dave Holstein, Jim Carrey himself, and Jason Bateman (star of Arrested Development and Ozark). South Side is a TV series sitcom on the network Comedy Central. It follows the lives of two friends from Englewood, Chicago; who just graduated from community college and are ready to turn their lives around. However, they are currently working at a dead end job at rental store called Rent-T-Own. I recommend this show. Not only is it hilarious, it's also authentic look into what life on the South Side is all about.

Pagel, Katie (MW) The Confession Killer 100

The Confession Killer is a documentary on Netflix based off of a true story about Henry Lee Lucas and his spree of murders. Lucas had admitted to killing numerous women over his lifetime. Some to stay, around 600, although the documentary goes into argument whether that is accurate information or not. It is known that Lucas had killed his mother, girlfriend at the time, and landlord, all which that had been proved he was guilty. The series gets interesting when people began to notice that Lucas is toying around with the cops, instead of giving accurate information. Come to find out that he had made up stories of specific murders just to maintain the special treatment he was getting. Part of the documentary takes place in Georgetown where Lucas is shown abusing his power of knowledge about said murders, over the cops heads. The true crime documentary can be found on Netflix.

Gossip Girl is a Television Series with 6 seasons and is based off extremely wealthy families who live in New York. The families include very privileged teenagers who are from the upper east side and go to a very elite private school. There is a online website called "Gossip Girl" where a person posts all the gossip about these elite teenagers and how they live their lives. No one knows who this "Gossip Girl" is  and the posts that he/she makes. The posts control their lives and inform all of New York what each elite teenager is doing, especially this one girl whose name is Serena Van Der Woodsen who is the "it" girl and who everyone knows.

The characters range in diversity, and the colors and animation are great- able to captivate young minds and keep them entertained. There is action and adventure in every episode, going to different places around the world and dealing with "Spy Entail" and a fictional look into the life of undercover spies. The main characters, Clover, Sam and Alex remain consistent with their attitudes and nature/personality throughout each season and episode, while the settings offer great changes throughout each season and episode.

In the Netflix documentary "Nurses Who Kill" it tells of many who pursue a career in nursing specifically to hurt patients that they're supposed to be taking care of. It is definitely scary to think that you put your life in the hands of someone who says they will take care of you and they do the exact opposite of that. I work as a nurse right now so it is hard to think another nurse could be hurting patients and no one knows. The series is very interesting and shows the reality of people who have issues within themselves while working in a professional place. The series taels about many different nurses from different backgrounds, but I thought it was interesting and frightening.

The Politician is a Netflix original serious about a high school student in upper-class Santa Barbra, California who's running for school body president with a life long goal of actually one day becoming POTUS. Funny enough the show is little about pure politicians and more about the absurdly serious way our main character Payton and his group of friends take this insignificant race for student body president. The show has healthy number of stars, featuring Gwyneth Paltrow as Payton's mother and Jane Fonda making an appearance towards the end of the season, though she will be much more prominent in the second season to come. Outside of the hilarity of the storyline and its main characters, the Politician shines in beauty. The show has great writing that's crisply delivered by diverse and colorful cast of characters. Cells at Work is basically if Osmosis Jones was an anime. Cells at Work personifies the body's trillions of cells, and follows the story of a red blood cell as she tries to complete her job delivering oxygen and nutrients to different parts of the body amidst the various different ailments and illnesses that their home, the body, goes through on a daily basement. Cells at Work is not only entertaining but also rather educational, as many of the episodes draw from different scientific processes that our body goes through, as well as explains different types of cells in our bodies like White Blood Cells, Platelets, B Cells and plenty more. It's also incredibly ridiculous and over the top, which just adds to the comedy of the show.

The ten-episode series, The Messiah, takes viewers on a spiritual journey to determine what it would be like if a "Messiah-like figure" returned in modern times. This brought attention to people from all around the world. His followers claimed he was this divine entity who could create miracles, but others believed he was a con. CIA officer, Eva Geller sets out to track down this so-called Messiah who throughout the series continues to perform "God-like" miracles such as walking on water and bringing a dead man back to life. This made FBI and CIA agents concerned about what his intentions were and if this could be an act of terrorism. The ending leaves viewers with compelling ideas of who Al-Massih really is and hopes for a second season.

The show is produced by a company called Rooster Teeth, they are an Austin based company that mainly make content for the internet. They have their streaming service that has a free option and a paid option. All of Rooster Teeth's productions are financed by their ad revenue and their first memberships. The show is getting a second season this year which they announced in early January.

Basketball or Nothing introduces us to Chinle High School, the largest high school in the Navajo Nation where its basketball team, the state-championship-chasing Wildcats, are the pride of the town. Werner, TJ (MW) Battle Creek 10

Battle Creek is CBS cop drama/ comedy that stars Dean Winters, Mayhem from the Allstate commercials, and Josh Duhamel. Set in Battle Creek, MI, Winters plays Russ Agnew, an old school cop that trusts nothing and no one and Duhamel portrays Milt Chamberlain, an FBI agent tasked with setting up a state-of-the-art satellite office and aid the small town cops in their fight against the rising crime rate. The show is a collaboration of producers Vince Gilligan of Breaking Bad and David Shore from the medical drama House. Unfortunately this show was cut off after only one season but still lives on Netflix and is available to stream.

Padilla, Madelynn (TTH) SKAM Austin 100

SKAM Austin is a Facebook series that follows the lives of kids at Bouldin high school. Each episode focuses in on students like Meg, Marlon, Daniel, Zoya, and many others. These episodes can be highly relatable to students currently in high school or kind of nostalgic to those who are out and already graduated.

Ingobernable is a fictional Netflix original series based in Mexico. A lot of drama and speculations rise when the first lady of Mexico files for a divorce. Things only get more suspenseful as the President of Mexico dies. Everyone believes the first lady committed the crime. The show is filled with suspense and plot twist never expected.

Sisters is a Australian TV series that is a original Netflix series that premiered in 2018. Sisters is a drama/comedy show that follows the main character Julia after finding out that her dad who is a fertility specialists, is also the father of over 100 boys and 2 other girls. This show is about her and her interesting sisters as they find out they are related and get to know each other. The show is only one season so far but it is binge worthy.

Mansell, Trevor (TTh) The League 100

The league is a comedy television series that used to be on Netflix but is now exclusively shown on Hulu. The league is about a very close group of friends that compete in a fantasy football league every year, in which a new season of the show brings a new season for the league also. There's not really a main character in the show, instead focusing on every member of the group equally which includes the likes of Ruxin, Pete, Taco, Jenny, Kevin and Andre. There is also another character known as "Shiva" who is a girl from their high school that they named the fantasy league's trophy over. The main plot to this show is everyone basically doing whatever they can to win the league and get their hands on the "Shiva", as well as clowning on each other in the process. I'd say it is a great show for college friends to watch together as it can be a bit inappropriate at times.

you get to see how he interacts with his students and his co-workers in an entertaining way that most people would relate with one another. As well build a special bond with each of his students that bring a unique way for people to enjoy watching. He provides

As a kleptomaniac, she goes to shoplifters anonymous and there meets two girls with whom she forms very close bonds with. Together, Elodie, Moe, and Tabitha go on many adventures.

Pose is a LGBTQIA show that highlights the struggles of the community while also exposing the upbringing of Vogue (Ballroom) culture. As a member of the LGBTQIA community I can attest that the show simply allows the viewer to see how it is living through our eyes. Pose is set in New York during the 80's - 90's, filled with drama, heartache, happiness, and death.

Haverland, Sarah (MW) The Family 100

The Family, directed by Jesse Moss, is a documentary series that is based on a book. Jeff Scarlet wrote the original book, and he is the one that saw The Family first hand. It goes into depth about Doug Coe, the associate director, and the "secretive conservative organization" that was happening at Washington D.C. Coe had strong beliefs in his faith and believed that God's work is best done in the public eye. It has been a big part of politics since President Dwight E. Eisenhower but always seemed to be overlooked by the public eye. The Family is the organizers of the National Prayer breakfast, and this documentary shows that it isn't exactly what it says. Many people never saw the effect of this "organization" until the book, and now the documentary was released.
