The Netflix series You is an American psychological thriller series developed by Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble. The first season is based on the 2014 novel by Caroline Kepnes and follows Joe Goldberg, a New York bookstore manager and serial killer who falls in love with one of his customers, Guinevere Beck, and quickly develops an extreme, toxic, and delusional obsession over her and their relationship. The first season follows the story of Joe Goldberg while he uses social media to stalk her and remove anything that stood in the way of their romance. The second season, Joe moves from New York to Los Angeles to run from his past and start a new identity. Meeting a new person he develops romantic feelings for, Joe falls into his old habits of obsession and violence. Desperate for this new love to succeed, he tries to avoid the fate of his previous romantic struggles.
