One Mississippi is a semi-autobiographical series consisting of 12 episodes on Amazon Prime. Comedian Tig Notaro is the writer, executive producer, and star in this dark, dramatic comedy about a radio host with breast cancer and a severe infection returning to her hometown in Mississippi to take her mother off life support. Once there, she is forced to come to terms with her horrible past while dealing with hardships in the present and uses her radio show as a platform to process her situation and connect with others. The show manages humor while fully delving into serious themes of sexuality and discrimination, sexism, re-defining family, debilitating illness, sexual harassment/abuse, guilt, and grief.
