Stephens, Bae (MW) Terriers

Terriers is about an ex-cop and his best friend that are engaged in an unlicensed private investigation business. The series shows some of the crazy adventures they go one and they stuff they'll put themselves through just for money. The show also portrays their personal lives. The ex-cop (Hank Dalworth) is divorced and a recovering alcohol. His best friend (Britt Pollack) lives with his girl friend and used to be a criminal. Terriers is shown on FX, but can also be found on Netflix. There is currently only one season out. The show was created by Ted Griffin, and stars Donal Logue, Michael Raymond-James, and Laura Allen. I think this show is worth watching because it shows an interesting perspective of a group of "detectives" that aren't exactly the most fit people for the job. They don't go about things in the most professional manner, and it presents a new twist to your typical cop show.

The Magicians, a series produced by the SciFi network is a fantasy fiction that is a creative mix of Harry Potter and Narnia. Unlike the titles previously mentioned this series features an American cast based in New York. The main character is a graduate student by the name of Quentin Coldwater who find out he has been gifted with Magical powers, acceptance to this school comes with more than weird outfits, the expectations are heavy and the danger is real and quite like the actual college experience drug filled. As Q learns not only is magic real but the fantasy world in his favorite books "Fillory" is just as real.

My show is called "You're the worst" It is aired on FXX and it is about a Girl named Gretchen who basically does not believe in relationships and is scared to let people in and then there is Jimmy who is a narcissist that believes firmly that all relationships fail and has a different girl every other night. But they both meet and later on develop feelings for each other and despite what they believe they attempt a casual relationship and see how things turn out. It is sort of on the rated R side but it is also has a lot of comedy and romance.

The New Normal -  The New Normal was a sitcom created and principally written by Ryan Murphy and Ali Adler. The story line follows a wealthy gay couple Bryan (Andrew Rannells) and David (Justin Bartha) who are living in Los Angeles. Just as they start to worry that they will never be blessed with parenthood, they meet Goldie (Georgia King), a waitress who has just moved to California with her daughter to escape from her closed-minded grandmother and a life without a future. Davis, Friedman (TTh) Lucifer

Tom Ellis plays Lucifer Morningstar, most formally known as the devil. He is bored and unhappy reigning over the pits of hell, and decides that it is time for hime to retire the throne and make way for Los Angeles. It is there he meets a police detective named Chloe Decker (Lauren German) and uses his supernatural ability to influence people and assist her on cases This show embodies the spirit of LA very well. Each episode is usually about a new case while still following along and developing a good story for its main characters. If you like mystery and comedy combined, then I highly suggest you check this show out. I would find myself deep into the story trying to figure out who the killer or culprit is, meanwhile Lucifer is doing a great job in providing comic relief. 

There are two main stars of the show, Tom Ellis and Lauren German, but there are also two main co-stars. The first being Lucifers follower Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt) Lucifer being the devil is basically her master, she must obey him no matter cost, yet by being on earth it is starting to change her and allow her to have free will. The second co- star is  Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) who plays an angel and Lucifers brother. By including an actual figure from the bible, it allows the show to go more in depth than just police detective cases. It makes for interesting thoughts about God and the Devil as well.

Background Information: Raising Hope is a 20th Century Fox television series that shows the life of Jimmy Chance, who becomes a single parent to an infant after the biological mother he had an one-night stand with ends up on death row. Jimmy must welcome this infant to his dysfunctional family which includes his mother, father and grandma. The Executive Producer of Raising Hope is Greg Garcia, he has produced several other long-running sitcoms such as "Yes, Dear" and "My Name Is Earl." I would say this show is a hidden gem when it comes to being a comedy, its hilarious. South Beach Tow is a reality television show on Tru TV centered around Tremont Towing in Miami. This over the top show highlights Tremont staff who are always running into trouble with furious people getting their car towed. The staff are always getting something done to them because of angry customers parking in tow away zones. The show is centered on South Beach and the towing that takes place there every day. The shows main character Bernice is not the one to mess with and brings the comedic relief to the show because she is always crossing the line and getting into fights with people she tows. This show is jam packed with action and will have you laughing the entire episode. Surprisingly enough Jennifer Lopez is the executive producer of the show along with her colleague Simon Fields who got the idea of the show when Tremont towing towed his car a few years ago. The show is under the production companies Nuyorican Productions and Bodega pictures.

Life Unexpected was a drama television series that premiered on The CW from 2010-2011. This series only had two seasons. Life Unexpected was about a fifteen year old, Lux Cassidy, from foster care applying to become a emancipated minor. Lux finds out that her mother is a radio host, and her father, a bartender. While in court, a judge gives temporary custody to her biological parents. The show elaborates her journey as a teenager finding her biological parents. Throughout the show, Lux Cassidy struggles to know her parents, her new life, and ends up trusting them along with her new family. Herrera, Daniel (MW) Erased

Erased is a psychological, time-traveling thriller produced by A-1 Pictures and Aniplex. Atsuhiro Iwakami and Kiyoko Matsuzaki are chief producers on the show. Erased is about a man, Satoru, who, at seemingly random times, is reverted back in time a few moments in order to prevent a tragedy from occurring. This plays into the fact that he constantly dwells and feels guilty about a specific instance in his childhood when three of his classmates were murdered, and feels as though he could have made a difference if he just reached out to one of them. After a particularly traumatic experience (no spoilers), his power takes him back to his childhood and with the knowledge of the future, plans how he is going to save the lives of his classmates. I find this series, specifically as an anime, to be refreshing because it doesn't over-emphasize nor over-explain Satoru's time-traveling ability. It simply uses it as a storytelling mechanic to amazing effect.

Pitch is a Fox television series created by Dan Fogelman and Rick Singer. It's about a young female pitcher named Ginny Baker who becomes the first woman to play in Major League Baseball. Being the rookie on the team Ginny must prove herself to her teammates and the world watching her. Despite the hardships Ginnys had to face in the past, she continues to play hard and inspire young girls. She shows throughout the show that you can achieve anything with hard work and dedication.

                Only Fools and Horses ran on BBC One from 1981 to 1991, and 1-1.5 hour long Christmas Specials continued to be produced until 2003, after the end of the original run of the show.
                The series follows the lives of Derek "Del Boy" Trotter (David Jason) and his brother Rodney (Nicholas Lyndhurst), who run an unlicensed (i.e. illegal) resale business, and their constant quest for money. Derek is constantly acquiring material to flog through numerous shady bulk purchases of defective, "hooky" (stolen), or cheap foreign merchandise. They live in a council flat in Peckham, London with their aging grandfather (Lennard Pearce), and later their great-uncle Albert (Buster Merryfield), after Pearce died and his character's death was written into the series.
                The series was both created and all episodes written by John Sullivan, a king in British comedy television writing who also wrote Citizen Smith, and was a sketch contributor for The Two Ronnies. Sixty-four episodes of Only Fools and Horses, not including Christmas Specials, were produced.

Martinez, Iliana (MW) American Dad

American dad is a cartoon series created by Seth Macfarlane. Macfarlane is also the show's executive producer. The show plays on the format of family guy but has some major differences. The family setup is almost as eccentric as those on Spooner St, but the show is not the same. When Family Guy began their jokes were mostly fart humor with some clever cut always. While American Dad has always had a much darker sense of humor. The slight underhanded jokes that the alien character, Roger, throws out are very intellectual. Roger might reference a little known poet and joke about prostitutes all under the same breath. And my final argument against any that dare say American Dad is less than Family Guy is that Werner Herzog actually directed an episode! The amazingly talented directed who brought us Fitzcarraldo directed a whole episode of this supposedly inferior show.

Bloom, Victoria (MW) King of the Road

King of the Road is a show that follows three skateboarding teams through Thrasher magazines annual King of the Road scavenger hunt. At the beginning Thrasher gives them a booklet that has tricks the teams must accomplish to gain a certain amount of points for their teams. It takes place in three cities and over the time of a few weeks. It's great to watch pro skatboarders land amazing tricks and do a lot of crazy stuff along the way.  The show airs on Viceland and the executive producer is Michael Burnett.

Pushing Daisies is a 2 season show that aired from 2007 to 2009. It is a show about a man named Ned who possesses a rare gift, the ability to restore life to the dead just by touching them. He decides to put his power to good use by helping an investigator solve murder mysteries by going to the morgue, waking the deceased, and asking them a series of questions to find their killer. However, Ned is faced with a huge complication when he brings back his childhood love interest back to life with the intention of keeping her alive. The problem is, Ned's power comes with a few drawbacks, although he can touch the dead and bring them to life, if he touches them once more, they're gone forever.

It premiered on January 10th at 9pm in the U.S. The show Stars Tom Hardy. His character James Delaney is back in Britain after spending the last 14 years in Africa. He returns for his fathers funeral. The entire town is in disbelief when they see him because they all assumed he was dead after being gone for over ten years. James Delaney runs into his half sister at his father's funeral. There is some kind of romantic connection between the two. James has problems. Besides having an incestuous, sexual tension with his half sister, he has weird hallucinations throughout the show. We're only two episodes into the series. The show may have some kind of supernatural elements to it like American Horror Story. Tom Hardy explains he doesn't want everyone to exactly know what's going on yet, because once we watch all eight episodes all of our questions will be answered. It has been compared to Peaky Blinders. Both shows are set after wars. James Delaney is in hopes of running his father's shipping company now that he is home, but this won't be easy considering the War of 1812 is just coming to an end.

This Is Us is a new series that just finished its first season and is being renewed for two more. The show stars actress Mandy Moore as the mom of triplets married to a business man aspiring to open his own home building company. The show goes back and forth from the triplets current lives in 2017, at age 36, to when they were kids. The point is to show what makes them the way they are. The show is a extreme tear jerker that hits every emotion in all the right ways. The show connects with mothers, people struggling with their weight, people who feel abandoned by loved ones, and how unique every family is. The show has something for everyone no matter who you are.

Burks, Alaiya (TTh) Insecure.

Insecure is a one of HBO's newest hit shows.It stars Issa Rae who is known for her YouTube series Awkward Black Girl. One of my favorite parts of this show is that it gives representation to woman of color. In addition, Insecure doesn't feed into the stereotypes that many shows have when portraying women of color. I absolutely love this show and I believe it is one of HBO's most diverse sitcoms so far.

Peaky Blinders,  produced by Caryn Mandabach Productions and Tiger Aspect Productions, is a Netflix Original Series based out of England and set in post-WWI Birmingham, England. The producer, Caryn Mandabach, has funded the show with the help of The Weinstein Company who has given Netflix exclusive distribution right in the United States. Based on the Peaky Blinders gang of the early 1900s, the Shelby Family uses corruption, money, and ruthless killings to take over the city of Birmingham and control the entire monetary flow of the region. Their leader, Thomas Shelby, is a master manipulator and con-artist, who uses his dealings in horse race betting to gain control of Birmingham and eventually, London. Along the way, he is opposed by a private investigator sent by Winston Churchill, the Communist Party of England, the Irish Republican Army, and an assortment of powerful rival gangs. The empire that the Shelby family establishes, however, begins to collapse under the weight of past corruption and scandals which eventually leads to their demise.

The Man In The High Castle is a novel written in 1962 by Philip Dick that Ridley Scott and  Frank Spotnitz has turned into a TV series with the help of Amazon Productions. The series tells the tale of an alternate history where the Axis Powers won World War II, thus subdividing the world. The United States would be split into two , the Greater Nazi Reich and the Japanese Pacific States. The series will show you two different characters' stories from either sides of the United States that will eventually meet one another. This story line of an alternate history makes it standout from any other TV series and keeps its viewers captivated.

Barstool Sports is a satirical sports and men lifestyle blog that was founded by Dave Portnoy. Barstool started as a blog out of Portnoys basement that was recently bought by the Chernin Group for around 15 million. Barstool is extremely popular in the Northeast and is not as well known down south. "The Rundown" is a 30 minute series where they talk about topics from sports to politics to the Kardashians. "The Rundown" is making its national debut on Comedy Central January 30.

Guilt is a mystery and drama tv series that first aired on Freeform (formally known as ABC Family) back in June of 2016. Guilt was created by Kathryn Price and Nicole Millard, and then produced by Freeform Original Productions and Lionsgate Television. This television series tells the story of an American student named Molly Ryan who studying in London. After a night on the town with her best friend Grace Atwood, Molly is found murdered in their apartment. Having been Molly's best friend and her roommate, Grace is immediately targeted as a suspect for the murder of Molly. Grace's sister, Natalie flies to London from Boston in efforts to defend her sister in the ongoing murder case along side a questionable lawyer named Stan. As new information regarding Molly's murder comes out, Grace faces cyberbullying on social media, and constant harassment from the press. Hefner, Jordaan (MW) Voltron: Legendary Defender

Voltron: Legendary Defender is an American animated web television series produced by DreamWorks and animated by Studio Mir (The creators of Avatar: The Last Air Bender) . It is a reboot of the old cartoon Voltron and its animation is a mix of anime-influenced animation as well as CGI. The first season premiered on Netflix on June 10, 2016 and consisted of 11 episodes. Season 2 is set to begin on January 20, 2017. The basic premise of the show is a group of teenagers transported from Earth become pilots to robotic lions who are able to form the legendary weapon Voltron which is needed to win the intergalactic war. This show really breaches out from being a simple cartoon for children as it deals with kidnapping, PTSD and physical disabilities as well as having a relatable character for each and every type of person.

On the new online comedy network called Seeso (NBC) is a show called HarmonQuest. It was created and produced by Dan Harmon, creator of shows like Community, Rick and Morty, and also host of the podcast Harmontown.  It is part live, part animated improvisational comedy show.  The audiences watches Dan Harmon, Jeff Davis, Erin McGathy, and different special guest play a campaign of Dungeons and Dragons from episode to episode.  The real star of the show is the Dungeon Master, Spencer Crittenden, who comes up with the storyline of each episode.  The game is animated into a cartoon in-post, making for hilarious depictions of the improv done onset.

Brian Hall (MW) Samurai Jack

Samurai Jack is an American animated cartoon series originally aired on Cartoon network . The series follows Jack, a time-displaced samurai, in his singular quest to travel back in time and defeat the evil demon Aku. The animation is simplistic but elegant. The series premiered in 2001 and ended on September 2004, after airing a total of 52 episodes. Samurai Jack has since gathered high critical acclaim. It won four Emmy Awards, six Annie Awards, as well as eight additional nominations. This series had one of the most confusing ending which has prompted a reboot season airing fall 2017. This cartoon series is a hidden gem with huge underground fandom.

Cyberchase is an educational broadcast based show that aired on PBS for 15 years. The show began in 2000 and continued to have new episodes up until late this past year. Three kids were the protagonists of this show and they made their way into another dimensional world where they solved problems through mathematical skills. The show allowed young kids to be entertained by education in a fun way and taught them anything from simple addition to complicated geometry and algebra. Club de Cuervos is a Netflix-Original comedy and drama series in Spanish, starring executive producer, co-creator, and director Gary Alazraki. The show is based off when the patriarch of a prominent family dies, his/heirs battle to determine who will gain control of his beloved soccer team: The Cuervos of Nuevo Toledo. This show is a great way to try to branch off towards a different type of entertainment, especially the Spanish language which they do include subtitles for you. The programming wasn't just to target the Spanish speaking audiences, but to any viewer who enjoys a comedy series.

Luke Cage, is a Netflix-original series by Cheo Coker, based on the Marvel Comic character Luke Cage. It is set within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sharing continuity with Marvel movies and is the third in a line up of shows that will lead up to 'The Defenders' crossover miniseries. Mike Colter stars as Luke Cage, a former convict with superhuman strength and unbreakable skin who now fights crime. Mahershala Ali, Simone Missick, Theo Rossi, Erik LaRay, Rosario Dawson, Alfre Woodard in season one. Colter was cast as Cage, to appear in Jessica Jones first. The story is about Luke Cage trying to rebuild his life in Harlem and must soon confront his past and fight for his city. I believe it's worth watching because it has a lot of hidden messages that relate to the world we live in today. Luke Cage is the first comicbook show to star a Black hero, which I think is important because representation matters. Overall the series is great and is one of Netflix's best original shows.

Wilfred is a series that originally aired on FX, following the character Ryan. In a failed attempt to kill himself, Ryan wakes up the next day to imaginations of his neighbor's dog. The only thing is that Ryan sees a man in a dog suit, while everyone else sees the dog just as a normal dog—Wilfred. Wilfred puts Ryan in some difficult situations with the purpose of forcing Ryan to not take life to seriously. Each episode starts off with a quote that is related to the plot of the respective episode, in order to give the viewer some sort of direction of where the episode will take them. The show is four seasons long, with roughly 13 episodes each running about 30 minutes long, and the final episode aired on August 13th, 2014; however, all four seasons can be seen on Netflix.

Thomison, Isaac (TTh) Haters Back Off

Haters Back Off is a Netflix-original comedy series, starring Executive Producer Colleen Ballinger as the lead character "Miranda Sings." The show is based off of Ballinger's very successful character "Miranda Sings" from her YouTube channel, that has amassed millions of subscribers. The story centers around the day to day life of Miranda, an overly confident, self-absorbed, sheltered, and untalented young "performer." Each episode focuses on her road to fame, as well as the crazy adventures that she goes on with her weird uncle, timid mother, and overly responsible sister. Miranda also learns that there is a price to pay along the way for not caring about the feelings of others. I believe that this show is worth the watch due to the simple fact that it is hilarious. The amount of insane things that Miranda and her uncle execute just in order for Miranda to become famous is ridiculous, and that doesn't even include the rest of the stellar cast with their own sets of personal issues. It's good programming because they knew who their target audience was (young people--primarily millennials who watch Ballinger's YouTube channels), and they knew how to reach them (many younger viewers primarily use subscription based services such as Netflix or Hulu).

"We Bare Bears" is an American animated show which started off as a webcomic called "The Three Bare Bears created by Daniel Chong. The show centers around three bears named Grizzly, Panda, and Ice Bear who are trying to fit into human society. Living just outside of San Francisco the bears come into contact with plenty of humans which leads the bears to mimc the things the humans do; they get smart phones, dabble in online dating, open up a food truck, and watch cute cat videos on their version of Youtube. Though the bears get some into some awkward and funny situations while trying to fit in the show will have flash back episodes to when they were cubs that offer up both cute and emotional moments for the viewer to enjoy. The show was pitched by Daniel Chong and is now the executive producer of the show itself. Mercy Street is a PBS show based on the civil war-era that is centered around a hospital and the rise of alliances and their inevitable failures. This "hospital" is actually a hotel in Alexandria, Va. that has been converted into a hospital by the Union Army. The main character is a volunteer abolitionist nurse named, Mary. It is a show centered around loyalty and the lack there of in this hotel turned hospital during an extremely controversial time in American history. I think this show is extremely diverse due to its "history channel" type feel and alluring dramatic twists. This is why I'd like to share it with the class.

Shannara Chronicles is a weird, pumped up science fiction show on Netflix, and really of the first one of its kind. Netflix was the first to become this massive streaming entity that took over our lives, and I feel that way about this show, as well. In an era of digital media, the technology they used to develop the monsters and demons in this show is beyond its time. I'm pitching it to you because despite the shows you've seen, this is in a different realm, in the world of elves and demons, and a magical tree that holds the essence to life. Difficult people is about two best friends, Julie and Billy, who live in New York City and are aspiring comedians. The pair of friends are bitter and lack common courtesy to the people around them. It appears that they've become this way because majority of their friends have outgrown the stage of life that they are currently in- less than ideal careers, unmarried, no children, and basically unsuccessful in life thus far. The stars real names are actually the same first names of their characters- Julie Kessler and Billy Epstein. The executive producers are Amy Poehler, Dave Becky, and Michele Armor. The Path is an American Drama that released this year in the summer. The show is based on the people in a cult or ministry group and one man who had a vision. Eddie Lane, who is acted out by Aaron Paul, struggles in his beliefs after his vision in a retreat in a foreign country. From what he experienced, he doesn't want to reveal his beliefs and disappoint his family nor his group. Other than his beliefs, he dislikes the regulations after his friend took charge of the group that sound more a lot like a vague cult. He is forced to make choices between his beliefs and his family. The show began production in 2015 titled The Way but was soon changed to The Path. In 2016, Hulu debuted the show. Hulu renewed the show for a second season. In today's society, alcoholism has plagued many people. Chip, played by Will Arnett, is an AA Sponsor helping others quit their addiction with stories of his experience. Things get interesting when years later, the victims sister, London, moves to town and falls in love with Chip before know who he truly is. Limitless, a TV series stars your average post college screw up, a 28 year old by the name of Brian Finch (Jake McDorman) who hasn't accomplished a lot in life yet. Tokyo Ghoul is an anime television series by Studio Pierrot aired between July and September of 2014 followed by a second season that aired from January 8, 2015, to March 26, 2015. The executive producer is Gen Fukunaga. Tokyo Ghoul follows Ken Kaneki, a shy, bookish college student, who is instantly drawn to Rize Kamishiro, an avid reader like himself. However, Rize is not exactly who she seems, and this unfortunate meeting pushes Kaneki into the dark depths of the ghouls' inhuman world. In a twist of fate, Kaneki is saved by the enigmatic waitress Touka Kirishima, and thus begins his new, secret life as a half-ghoul/half-human who must find a way to integrate into both societies. Tokyo Ghoul is a completed series but it can still be viewed on Hulu.

Hannibal is an American psychological horror show created by Bryan Fuller. It originally aired from 2013-15 on NBC. The series is based on a collection of novels by Thomas Harris, including Red Dragon, Hannibal, and Hannibal Rising. The show follows FBI special investigator Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) and his ever-evolving relationship with renowned psychiatrist Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen.) Also along for the ride are Will's boss Jack Crawford (Lawrence Fishburne) and the rest of his team in the FBI's Behavioral Sciences unit. The events of Hannibal are a prequel to the well known film (and another Harris novel) The Silence of the Lambs. Initially recruited to investigate a serial killer in Minnesota, Will is put under psychological supervision by Dr. Lecter, who is fascinated by Will's ability to fully empathize with killers. Lecter, who is secretly a cannibalistic serial killer in his own right, starts to manipulate the FBI from within, all the while driving Will to potentially become a killer himself.

Traveling to and from different countries such as the UK, Ireland, and France these three men are willing to draw out any "spirits" that have been known to haunt the location. Almost Royal is a BBC comedy that follows the lives of two clueless British aristocrats, Georgie and Poppy Carlton, granting their father's dying wish that his children visit the country he loved so dearly. The Carlton siblings leave their home of England and hit the road documenting every step of their journey across the United States. I enjoy watching this show because it's funny and it takes you on their adventure where they interact with real-life, unsuspecting everyday Americans.

King, Brandon (TR) Resident Advisors 10

Resident Advisors is a hilarious Hulu original series that I first discovered a year ago. It follows a group of resident advisors in a newly constructed dorm as well as all of the mostly freshman who stay in the dorm. It deals with real life issues that many new college kids moving away from home go through while also being outrageously funny and inappropriate at times. It's clear why the show is something that we as students can relate to and while it is a comedy I believe it does help deal or better understand issues dealt with in college.

Harris, Taelor (TTh) Outlander 100

Outlander is a television drama series on Starz. It premiered on August 9, 2014. The show follows a British Army nurse in World War 2, 1945, who travels back in time to Scotland in the year 1743. Claire, the protagonist, desperately tries to go back to her time to reunite with her husband. However, to ensure her survival, she is forced to marry Jamie Fraser. Throughout the show, Jamie and Claire fall in love with each other, which leaves Claire caught between two men, one from the future and the other from the past. The Executive Producer is Ronald D. Moore. In 2012, Sony Pictures Television secured the rights to the show, with Moore developing the project and Jim Kohlberg Co-producing. Outlander is based off of the popular books written by Diana Gabaldon. The reason why Outlander is such an amazing show is because it grabs the audience attention by having a great story and is perfect for people who are hopeless romantic. Also, the show has outstanding visuals and dialogue and will always keep you guessing on whats going to happen next. Outlander is currently in production for season 3 that will premiere on April 1, 2017.

The Librarians is a show on the TNT network through cable. It is about these librarians who work in the Metropolitan Library, but under the library is where the real magic happens. It premiered December 7, 2014. Season 3 will premiere in November 2016. It is a great show for people who love myths in general. It is sort of the American version of the Doctor Who series. 60 Days In is a docuseries on A&E. It premiered on March 10, 2016. It is known as The Jail: 60 Days In internationally and airs in over 100 other territories. The series follows seven individuals as they volunteer to go undercover, spending 60 days as inmates in the Clark County Jail in Jeffersonville, Indiana. Their goal is to obtain evidence of questionable or illegal activities within the jail that might be missed by the Correctional Officers and surveillance systems. The existence of the undercover program is kept secret from the inmates, the guards, and most of the jail officials. Prior to entering the jail, the volunteers receive instruction on how to act around other inmates, and they are each given a pseudonym and a cover story, including details of the (fake) criminal charges on which they were arrested. Master of None is not your conventional television show, instead of having Hollywood sprinkle is glamour all over life's bumpy places, the producer, and star of the show, Aziz Ansari tells life like it really is for Dan, a 30 year old actor finding his way through life in New York City. Ansari, known for his comedy, does a phenomenal job at scripting the realities of life right from the beginning. The Pilot episode shows his character Dev, and Dev's hook up for the night, Rachel, having some bedroom fun- but things go awry and they both end up at the local drug store to purchase Plan B. The show is raw, interesting, and shines a light on what it's like for those who are trying to make it in the business who may not be your typical lead criteria. The 1950's were a incredibly controversial time in wartime Great Britain. The beginning of The Bletchley circle highlights the lives and work of four women largely responsible for breaking down German codes for The United Kingdom's Military during WWII. The basis of the plot consists of the women 7 years in the future working secretively on a string of murders in the London area. This is a period movie and accurately depicts lives of British women during this time. This miniseries was produced for ITV but then cut and so it was moved to The United States PBS. In "F is for Family, viewers follow the lives of the Murphy family in an animated sitcom placed during the 1970's. This political comedy/drama chronicles the all too familiar quest of a presidential hopeful, whom happens to also be a former First Lady and the Governor of Illinois, Elaine Barrish (Sigourney Weaver). Barrish loses in the primary's to a younger and reinvigorating candidate, and later assumes the role of Secretary of State in the new administration. The mini series follows the Secretary and her dysfunctional family through political scandals, diplomacy issues, and butting family dynamics. The series was produced by Greg Berlanti and Laurence Mark and the production company Warner Horizon Television. The show aired on the USA network in 2012 as a mini series and had plans to renew as a series, but was not renewed by the network.
