Difficult people is about two best friends, Julie and Billy, who live in New York City and are aspiring comedians. The pair of friends are bitter and lack common courtesy to the people around them. It appears that they've become this way because majority of their friends have outgrown the stage of life that they are currently in- less than ideal careers, unmarried, no children, and basically unsuccessful in life thus far. The stars real names are actually the same first names of their characters- Julie Kessler and Billy Epstein. The executive producers are Amy Poehler, Dave Becky, and Michele Armor. Since this series is a Hulu original- it's paid for through subscription to Hulu as well as advertising. There are currently two seasons.
