This political comedy/drama chronicles the all too familiar quest of a presidential hopeful, whom happens to also be a former First Lady and the Governor of Illinois, Elaine Barrish (Sigourney Weaver). Barrish loses in the primary's to a younger and reinvigorating candidate, and later assumes the role of Secretary of State in the new administration. The mini series follows the Secretary and her dysfunctional family through political scandals, diplomacy issues, and butting family dynamics. The series was produced by Greg Berlanti and Laurence Mark and the production company Warner Horizon Television. The show aired on the USA network in 2012 as a mini series and had plans to renew as a series, but was not renewed by the network.
