Vice News is a relatively new alternative news source that has recently moved from producing documentaries solely on Youtube to having its own HBO series. Vice on HBO provides hard hitting and gritty documentaries that cover a wide array of topics traditional news sources don't talk about such as African gangs and the black market oil trade to the growing economic divide in Mumbai to drug addicted veterans. Each episode consists of two 15 minute mini documentaries where a correspondent provides a balanced investigative account of each issue. Due to the success of Vice on HBO, the network has renewed the contract for a third and fourth season.
