Finding Carter is a drama television series that runs on MTV that follows a young girl named Carter who lived a happy perfect life with her single mother Lori. Carter then discovers that she was kidnapped by Lori as a baby when the police bust her at a festival and takes her away. Carter then tries to adjust to the new life she has to live with her biological and very structured family. Meanwhile, Carter's biological mother who is also a cop, tries to hunt down Lori to put her behind bars for kidnapping her child. Carter also struggles with her privacy as her biological father writes a continuum of his book about losing Carter and then finding her again as a teen. Carter's new friends begin to help her by sneakingly try to find Lori and reunite the two while humiliating Carter's biological mother.
