Crossbones is an exciting new TV show that came out this year. The series is based on the book, "The Republic of Pirates" by Colin Woodard. It tells a fictional story of the pirate Black Beard and how he controls the island of Santa Compana where he is ruler. Season ones main plot involves Tom Lowe, a British spy, whose orders are to kill Black Beard, also known as the "Commodore." John Malkovich plays and excellent, ruthless Black Beard and grabs the audience in a way that makes you like and hate his character. Crossbones only consists of nine episodes and has not been renewed for a second season, but you can watch the episodes on Amazon Instant.
