It follows the Carlin family. Consisting of a married mother and father, and they're three teenagers, Spencer, Glen and Clay. Each member of the family encounters a social struggle throughout the series. Ranging from drug abuse, racism, adultery, and discovering sexuality. The show captivated young audiences. The main focus on the show lies on the daughter, Spencer, and her relationship with her friend, Ashley, which soon becomes more intimate than we first expected. Though from paper, it may sound like another cheesy teen drama but it hits home. This show has the ability to take audiences through a range of emotions. Laughing through relatable teenage mischief or crying from deathly encounters. I promise you would binge watch all the seasons in one day.
