Girl Meets World is a new coming of age sitcom on the Disney Channel. It is a sequel of the ABC sitcom, Boy Meets World, which aired from 1993 to 2000. Girl Meets World first aired June 27, 2014. The show follows the lives of Cory and Topanga Matthews' daughter, Riley as she tries to navigate her life through middle school with her best friend Maya. Cory (who was the main character of Boy Meets World) is now Riley's teacher at school. On August 6, 2014 Girl Meets World was renewed for a second season on Disney Channel. The same producers and writers of Boy Meets World write and produce the sequel but for a younger generation. Any fan of Boy Meets World will also be a fan of Girl Meets World.
