The American crime drama web series, Mindhunter, debuted worldwide via Netflix on October 13, 2017. Based on the true crime book, Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit, by John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker, the American web series takes place in 1977 when criminal psychology and criminal profiling were arising from its early developmental stages. While challenging the status quo of Means, Motive, Opportunity (MMO), two FBI agents, Holden Ford (Jonathan Groff) and Bill Tench (Holt McCallany), work in developing a new field incorporating psychology, sociology, and anthropology through the interviews of imprisoned serial killers in order to comprehend why they do what they do in hopes of using this knowledge for future and ongoing criminal cases. Because having a simple MMO is no longer sufficient. Crime has started to become more complex as well as inexplicable and irrational. All of which needs to be explained and rationalized to the normal human mind.

They all come from different backgrounds; however, they all share a passion for music and together they form a band called RBD.

Mireles, Patrick (MW) Cobra Kai 100

This original series "Cobra Kai" was released on YouTube Premium in 2018 having completed Season 1 with 10 episodes. Another 10 episode run for the half-hour drama/comedy is now set to arrive in 2019. Daniel Larusso and Johnny Lawrence reunite over 30 years after the infamous 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament. The legacy returns when we find the winner, Larusso, running a successful string of car dealerships throughout the valley. Meanwhile the loser Johnny Lawrence, life has taken a slightly different turn. Since the loss, he seeks redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai dojo where again these two iconic characters become intertwined.

Gustis, Kimberly (MW) Nailed It! 100

Nailed It! is a show designed to show the works of amateur bakers as they attempt to recreate the works of professionals, creating a highly comedic show with various mishaps as the bakers struggle to put together their work in time to win a $10,000 prize. The show is hosted by actress Nicole Byer, who brings forth a light atmosphere among the contestants with her quips and jabs, alongside renowned pastry chef Jaqcues Torres and various guest judges who actively criticize the methods and end results of the bakers. Each episode involves three rounds centered around various themes, ranging from a unicorn cake to a bust of Donald Trump. Shots of the original cake and the amateur cake are put alongside each other for comedic effect during the judging rounds, handing the show closer to the comedy genre than to a serious cooking competition.

Boyd, Kendall (MW) Mr. Student Body President 100

Mr. Studen Body President is a TV show that originally aired on GO90 about Tyler Pendergast, the Student Body President of Berenger High School who takes high school politics a little too seriously. He is always at war with the school president to make sure his presidency is the best in Berenger high history. With his cabinet by his side, he is faced with various challenges that threatened his presidency. While the actual situation is not very drastic, the wittiness of the dialogue and the comedic timing add to the overall ambience of the series. The establishment of the high school's student leadership most closely resembling that of an authoritarian  government. All of these elements come together to make a high school student council the most interesting form of politics that is watchable on television.

Ysaguirre, Roman (MW) Legion 100

Legion is a psychological sci-fi TV series in the vein of the superhero genre. However, Legion goes beyond the typical superhero series, bordering on thriller and horror, with a good dose of comedy. The story follows David, a young man with schizophrenia, existing inside of a psych ward. He soon learns that he is gifted with special abilities, and is thrown in world where people want to use him or eliminate him. Based on the Marvel Comics characters, the X-Men, and a particular character of the same name, Legion is full of unique individuals; some with special abilities, others are interesting regardless. Still, it's a well written story that flows organically and independently from other lore, and can be great entertainment for a casual audience.

Roswell is a science-fiction show that is built around the relationship between aliens and humans. Three human/alien teenagers are sent to earth to complete their destiny. They all have these "out of this world" gifts that they've hidden from the world, until one the human/aliens, Max Evans, uses his healing power to heal one his classmates, Liz Parker, from a gun shot wound in a public diner. The show then takes off with Max and Liz's growing relationship, but also the growing curiosity and findings of what their lives were like on their home planet and the reasoning of their lives on earth. While they're trying to understand their findings, they are battling being exposed and caught by a numerous amount of suspicious and underground FBI groups.

This show documents several black couples and their lessons on love through life's hurdles; including overcoming sickness, financial struggle, pushy in-laws and infidelity. Well-known as well as everyday couples share their secrets of success and how they strive to uphold marriage amidst rampant divorce rates and a nation insistent (as history has shown) on breaking up the black household. Sprinkled in between these intimate interviews are interracial couples and single parents, who also tell what black love is to them from their unique perspective. 10/10 would recommend.

The show follows a sixteen year old named Henrietta "Henry" Coles (Maddie Hasson) who is an outsider in her town. Everything changes when a traumatic event with another one of her classmates triggers something inside of her. She discovers that she has powers that cannot be controlled. Throughout the show Henry tries to deal with her new powers and the traumatic event that happened. The series deals with the sensitive topic of sexual assault so at the beginning of each episode there is a viewer discretion.

Based on the popular theater show and book series, "Mrs. Brown's Boys" starring Brendan O'Carroll follows the life and antics of Agnes Brown, a Dublin matriarch who interferes in the lives of her friends and family members. Brown's six children include eldest son, Mark, who has been running the family since his father died when Mark was a young boy. Brown faces family troubles and attempts to fix everyone's problems, even going as far as joining a counseling session to find out what secrets her family is keeping from her.

He later meets a dragon that has been cursed, and sets out to help free the mythical creature. While certainly strange, this show has beautiful art and enjoyable light humor.

Starring Maia Mitchell and Cierra Ramirez, Good Trouble can be found on Freeform, Freeform.com and Hulu. Good Trouble is the new spin-off show of The Fosters. As with all good coming of age shows, the two sisters are faced with the challenges and obstacles that come with real life, such as unknowingly moving into a communial loft. The original series "Elite" is rated TV-MA and came out in 2018 on Netflix. While the show only has the first season available, season 2 is set to release soon. The show was filmed in Madrid, Spain and takes place in present time. The show is entirely in Spanish and is filled with action, drama, romance, and horror. It is the story of 3 new students on the verge of a crime that could change their life forever. The new students played by Spain's Itzan Escamilla, Mina El Hammani, and Miguel Herrán. They are lower class misfits trying to find a place in a clearly upper-class elite high school that is filled with snotty nosed rich kids. Each character represents some form of cultural difference that sets commotion in this perfect and elite school. The show is important for people to watch so they can see how being homophobic, racist, sexist, can affect a student's home life because the bullying doesn't take place just in school. The plot twist is each episode one murder of a student is trying to be solved. As the show progresses it becomes much more difficult to decipher who the killer is.

What is interesting about this show is that Joe continuously convinces the audience to root for him in trying to "win" Beck's affection. Psychopaths are typically people who don't feel remorse for their actions, no matter how bizarre, and are able to make people feel empathy for them in their situations. You allows us to have a look into the mind of a psychopath and takes it's audience on a roller coaster of emotions up until the finale episode where we are left wanting more. Scarlet Heart: Ryeo is a Korean TV show in which Hae Soo (female protagonist) travels back in time to the year 941 after drowning in a river. While her transition to this new era was difficult it is there that she falls in love with 4th Prince Wang So whom also later falls in love with her. They didn't always have it easy as living in the palace meant certain sacrifices, and regulations had to be met keeping them apart. We see their story unfold as the palace/empire itself is being threatened.
The main actors in this show are Lee Joon-gi as 4th Prince Wang So, Lee Ji-eun as Hae Soo, Kang Ha-neul as 8th Prince Wang Wook, Hong Jong-hyun as 3rd Prince Wang Yo, while the executive producers are Jo Jung-ho, Yang Min-suk (ko), Kim Kyu-tae. "Explained" is a weekly docuseries from Vox paired with Netflix that debuted May 23rd, 2018 with one season containing 18 episodes and counting. The show opens by giving the title of the topic, a comma and finally the title of the show, for example, (The racial wealth gap, Explained) They are short episodes that touch on popular topics such as monogamy, tattoos, diets, marijuana, and women's pay. "Explained" offers an interesting explanation in a digestible form on topics that are most talked about nowadays. The description of the show is right there in the title, "Explained " really does explain popular topics by experts in a tasteful, understandable form. The show really opens the viewer's mind and asks questions that would have never have been asked or thought of before.

Letterkenny is the story of a small town Canada that perfectly encapsulates what it's like to grow up and never leave your hometown. It began in 2016 and is already in its fifth season. It's down home, country charm lies in the dialogue between the characters including their exaggerated "hick sayings." It is a show you can watch again and again and still find new jokes to laugh at. Written and starred in by Jared Keeso (Wayne) in addition to, Nathan Dales (Darry) and K Trevor Wilson (Squirrely Dan), they make up a trio of small-town hicks and the problems that arise when different factions, including the skids, the nativesm and the out of towners, in their community bump heads. The first two seasons of the show are on Hulu while the rest runs on CraveTV, a Canadian streaming service.

My golden show is Robotech, which is a science fiction franchise that began with an 85-episode anime television series produced by Harmony Gold USA in association with Tatsunoko Production and first released in the United States in 1985. It follows a Robotech Pilot, Rick Hunter, who gets dragged into an interstellar war between a spacefaring war mongering race and the Earth government. Rick and his squad of crack pilots make a name for themselves in the space fortress that is the STF-1 as their squadron becomes one of the best. But getting to the top doesn't come easy as Rick soon learns. 'Manhunt' on Netflix is all-in-all captivating. The series walks through the FBI's investigation of the UNA-Bomber and centers itself on the profiler and the UNA-Bomber. Showing how the bombs were made, how they were shipped, and just how incredibly smart the UNA-Bomber was. It almost makes you feel bad for the UNA-Bomber (yes even though he is insane) as you begin to learn about the UNA-Bombers upbringing and his college years. I find interest in psychological shows and this one had everything I needed to enjoy my genre. I highly recommend taking a weekend to watch this 1 season, series as I do not think you will regret it.

He is the main speaker of the series and attempts to unravel the disappearance of Packman by conducting multiple interviews with family and friends. Those caught inside of it have their innermost fears revealed to them, and most don't live to tell their story. This is scary enough as it is, and while the citizens of the town are distracted trying to figure out if the mist is a work of God, man or nature, the true horror sets in: survival instincts. Throughout the series we follow Kevin and some unlikely friends fight their way to the mall, where Kevin's wife and daughter are trapped. We also see the lives of the people trapped in the mall, a large group of survivors who slowly self-destruct through lies, fear and hunger.

Don't Be Tardy is an American Reality television show that follows the lives of Kim Zolciak, and her husband Kroy Biermann. Kim is best known from her cast on reality TV show, The Real housewives of Atlanta while her Husband is known by many as a NFL outside linebacker who was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in 2008. The first season of Don't be Tardy documented the couple preparing to tie the knot. Mayans MC is an upcoming television series that will premiere on FX on September 4. The show was created by Kurt Sutter, the same creator of the series Sons of Anarchy. This HBO miniseries directed and produced by Steven Speilberg and Tom Hanks, The Pacific is based on true accounts of the United States Marines during WWII. The show is based on accounts of the brave Marines who fought in the pacific islands against the empire of Japan. Showing the viewers what men in this time period went through and the adversity they faced during their times in war. With actors who looked somewhat like who they portrayed (like Rami Malek and Jon Bernthal) the show makes it a point to be as concise as possible to telling the truest versions of stories as possible viewers.

Dark Tourist is a new Netflix Original TV series that first premiered in July of 2018. The whole concept of the show is to highlight the subset of tourism. As opposed to visiting beaches, parks, and other popular attractions, this series shows the dark side of tourism—like scoping out places associated with negativity, death, weirdness, and darkness. Journalist and writer of the show David Farrier takes his viewers on a dark and twisted journey as the viewers examine his travel experiences first hand. One of many new Netflix series, Insatiable tells the journey of former "Fatty Patty", taking on her peers and alcoholic mother after losing seventy-pounds. Patty is a problematic girl and gets her self in many sticky situations, but with the guidance of her pageant coach, her coach believes the both can go far in the pageant world. On the other hand, Patty's coach has many issues of his own from struggling with his career, marriage, and himself. With the two main characters being so problematic together they make a great team. Overall the humorous show is full of, revenge,suspense, love triangles, misjudgment, struggling in self identity, sexuality, and murder.

Station 19 is an American drama series from Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away with Murder creator and executive producer, Shonda Rhimes. This series takes viewers through the very mundane duties of a fire fighter, and the treacherous and dangerous fires they risk their lives fighting. The main character, Puerto Rican American actress Jaina Lee Ortiz, is Andy, the fire chief's daughter, and a stubborn yet smart and caring fire fighter. Also in this show is Ben Warren, played by actor Jason George, who many know from Grey's Anatomy as Chief Miranda Bailey's husband. In this series, you'll fall in love with the characters and grow an attachment to them, much like all other characters created by the brilliant Shonda Rhimes. The executive producer, Stacy McKee, is also a writer for Grey's Anatomy, and makes her debut as an executive producer with this series. Station 19 can be watched on ABC and is also streamed on Hulu. Based on the comics, Marvel's Cloak & Dagger is a 2018 Freeform television series created by Joe Pokaski that ties into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Starring Aubrey Joseph and Olivia Holt, the show tells the story of Tyrone Johnson and Tandy Bowen, two teenagers with different backgrounds who acquired superpowers in a life-changing event that connects their pasts. With excellent filmography and great story-telling that centers around the characters, this show is a must-watch. Season one can be watched on Hulu; season two will air in 2019.

Smith, Adam (MW) Fleabag 100

Fleabag is a black comedy about a middle-aged woman struggling with the guilt and turmoil caused by casual romantic hook-ups and an unhealthy family dynamic. Written by and starring Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the series has us rooting for the lead character before revealing her deep flaws, causing the viewer to question her motives and their choice to follow along and laugh through it all. Waller-Bridge is constantly breaking the fourth way, drawing the viewer in and further implicating them in the story. The show is both cynical and hilarious. It also breaks many story-telling and television conventions, making it stand out from other contemporary comedies.

Lawrence, Michael (TTH) The Fighting Season 100

After the snow melts in the Afgan mountains, the fighting season begins. This documentary series show the struggles of war, and the challenges faced by our American soldiers when the time came to withdraw from Afghanistan in 2014. This show follow the officers and enlisted men of America's military while in the process of making Afghanistan self governing state, and helping them hold their first national democratic election. The Fighting Season goes beyond just bullets and bombs, and shows the brotherhood formed between the Americans and the Afgan National Army. Politics and war go hand in hand, and that is what this show portrays and depicts what the Afghan war was primarily fought for.
