In the Spaniard soap opera "Velvet," one man by the name of Alberto Marquez must inherit the prestigious fashion gallery "Velvet" due to the passing of his father. As heir to the company he must take over and return the gallery to its former greatness. In comes Ana Ribera, the love interest of Alberto since they were kids. As an adult, Ana becomes a seamstress, as both struggle to adapt, as the romance between the two unfold, they are met with challenges throughout the whole show. It has a nice twist to a typical soap-opera, and is set in Spain in the 50's/60's. So if you want a preview of that time period, a look into a different culture, and a little drama to go along with both a surprising plot yet very relatable characters, give Velvet a try.
