A Series of Unfortunate Events is a book series about three orphans who lose their parents in a mysterious house fire, and shuffle around homes of family members,. All the while, Count Olaf (a greedy, evil man) ruins their stays there so that the children can come live with him by default so he can steal the money their parents left for them. Which then poses the question to the children of whether or not their parents' death was an accident or if they were murdered. Daniel Handler is the author of the novels the show is based on, and he is also the executive producer, along with Barry Sonnenfeld, who produced the movie back in 2004.
This is a Netflix Original Series, so it will be solely on Netflix and not on cable or television. A consumer interested in watching this series would have to have a Netflix subscription. Because it is set to release in Fall of 2016, I am using different articles, one being https://pr.netflix.com/WebClient/loginPageSalesNetWorksAction.do?contentGroupId=10571, which shows the release date as confirmed by Netflix. There is a trailer that is circling the web, but Netflix is saying they didn't release it, although it looks pretty real. And, because of the superior quality and the Netflix logo at the end, fans are saying that Netflix did in fact make the trailer. In one article, the author wrote "the trailer was uploaded to a mysterious YouTube account owned by 'Eleanora Poe.'<https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgQB3hLQqvryPWQXPn5R7PQ> Fans of the book series will recognize the name as the sister of Mr. Arthur Poe (the banker in charge of the Baudelaire orphans), and also the editor-in-chief of 'The Daily Punctilio' who was ultimately locked in the basement of her newspaper thanks to her star reporter and Esmé Sqaulor."
