The Adventures of Rick and Morty is an animated sci-fi comedy series on Adult Swim. Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, the show's main creative personalities, are the executive producers, writers, and even some of the voice actors. Rick and Morty, whose names and likenesses are spoofs of Doc and Marty from Back to The Future, explore exotic universes and go on cosmic adventures in this refreshing take on what it means to exist in a dimension where reality is infinite. Between finding a Purge world (based on the concept explored in the movie The Purge) and trying to incept an idea into his math teacher's brain to get good grades(an idea explored in Inception), Morty and his alcoholic genius grandfather Rick get into kooky hi-jinks and shenanigans galore, occasionally pausing on a sobering and witty thought about our nature and place in the grand scheme of the universe. Seasons 1 and 2 are available on Adult Swim, and the show was renewed for a third season on August 15, 2015.
