Chewing Gum is a British series on Netflix that features a 24-year-old shop assistant named Tracey who is a restricted and religious virgin that wants to learn more about the world. It has a dominantly African American cast and the plot rejects stereotypes and reflects an optimistic world where young 20-something kids can do anything. It is slightly outlandish and vulgar at times, but the way it's produced makes it into something everyone can relate to when you are young and confused about the world.
