When Salsa music was a white-male-dominated world, an Afro-Cuban woman named Celia Cruz decided to challenge the status quo. Celia is a biographical drama based on the life of one of Cuba's most renowned singers, set from her younger years to the end of her days.
Celia premiered in 2015 on Telemundo, and according to IMDB, the series is still in production. Currently there are over 80 episodes, which are produced by Nelson Martinez, Amparo Lopez, and Dean Altit. While the series is in Spanish, there are English subtitles available on Netflix, as well as an English dub.
