Based on a true story, The Long Road Home is about the 1st Cavalry Division from Fort Hood that was brutally ambushed on April 4th, 2004 in Baghdad. That day would be known as "Black Sunday" -- this attack on American troops would changed the U.S. military's view of Iraq from a peacekeeping mission to a fight against radical domestic insurgents.
