American Vandal is a television mockumentary series on Netflix that satires true crime documentaries. The first season follows the aftermath of a high school prank that left multiple faculty and staff cars vandalized. Class clown Dylan Maxwell is blamed for the vandalism due to his reputation and expelled from school. Sophomore Peter Maldonado decides to film an investigative documentary to uncover the truth behind the vandalism and prove Dylan's innocence. The show is great due to it's biting satire of the genre, as well as its well developed characters and intriguing mystery.
