The Last Tycoon is based on a book by F. Scott Fitzgerald that is set in Hollywood in the 1930's. A big time producer falls in love with an Irish actress who becomes a Hollywood icon. She unfortunately passes away and Monroe Stahr has to cope with life without her. He is faced with many challenges with the production of his movies and woman/actress that he meets along the way.
