"Better than us" is a Russian television series on Netflix that tells the story of a broken family and a robot. It is the year 2029; robots live to serve humans by helping them with daily tasks, raising children, and even replacing jobs humans used to perform. Arisa, a robot purchased by a large tech company named CRONOS, was programmed to be a wife adopt children to mother them, with disregard to Asimov's 3 laws of robotics. These laws prevent robots from turning hostile on their human creators. Without being programmed with these laws, Arisa kills an employee of CRONOS due to his attempted molestation of her. The huge tech company CRONOS now has a murder bot on the loose and are desperate to find Arisa. After escaping, Arisa stumbled across the child of an estranged husband and wife, Sonya. As the story progresses, Arisa's programming evolves and she develops the capability to learn how to be a good parent while evading her own capture.
