Cruel Summer is a psychological thriller drama series that debuted last summer. The show is set in the 1990s in a small fictional town, Skylin, Texas. The story follows two girls, Kate, the popular blondie, and Jeanette, an outsider that is obsessed with Kate's life. One day, conveniently for Jeanette, Kate goes missing and Jeanette takes this opportunity to take over her life. Jeanette steals Kate's entire aesthetic, her friend group, and even starts dating her ex-boyfriend.
