I Survived... is a documentary television series that first aired on Lifetime in 2008. The show continued for 7 seasons and ended in 2015. This show allows for near-death survivors to share their experiences in their words. Each episode includes 2 or 3 stories, most including kidnapping, rape, or being stranded somewhere isolated. I Survived... is special for the way it does not include over-dramatized reenactments. At the end of the show, each survivor describes why they believed that they survived, whether it be instinct, luck, the grace of God or the help of others. I Survived... is storytelling at its most honest, emotional and vulnerable state.
