Anne with an E is a show that aired on Netflix in 2017. This show has 3 seasons and is set in Green Gables during the 1890s. Anne Shirly's story starts when she is adopted at the age of 13, by Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert. The show itself is not your typical kind of show, but neither is Anne, considering that she has red hair, freckles, a big imagination, and extraordinary vocabulary. This show does not only talk about Anne's problems, it also talks about serious social issues that occurred in the 1890s, such as discrimination, stereotyping, homophobia and so much more. Anne with an E is full of emotional rollercoasters, but also teaches people very valuable information about social problems in the 1890s that connects to today's social issues.
