State of Affairs is a show on NBC aimed around the government and the behind the scenes work they do with their secrets and what the rest of the country doesn't know. Lead actress Katherine Heigl is a CIA analyst, now the daily briefer for the President of the United States who is actually the mother of Heigl's fiancee that was killed in a terrorist attack. The series is about Heigl's job with the government while trying to handle her grief from the loss of her fiancee with scandalous activity and in time still trying to uncover why her fiancee was murdered.
