Burrell, Morgan (MW) Brain Games 100

Optical illusion, deception, and trickery are what make the series Brain Games different from other traditional television shows. Unlike most shows, Brain Games has a goal which is to teach the viewer about the human mind through different techniques. Throughout all 7 seasons Brain Games remains interactive and calls upon watchers to follow certain instructions during a demonstration. Normally the outcome of the demonstration is something surprising or interesting that the show continues to explain throughout the episode. Those who watch have the opportunity to learn while being entertained with unfamiliar topics. (a) While initially a consulting producer, Jerry Kolber currently holds the title of executive producer for this Emmy-nominated program. (b) Brain Games began on the advertised-based cable TV program National Geographic, but it can also be found on both the subscriber-based websites Amazon video, and Netflix. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reVq-RPaHLI&list=PLCv6T8QWRwjn8jVZWps93zeVw2pV-_QAX

Neely, Trevor (MW) The Boondocks 100

The Boondocks is an American television program based off a comic strip and created by Aaron McGruder. The comic strip gained much traction and was syndicated to make its debut in newspapers in 1999. Development of a TV series also began at this time and after a few mishaps of being called too "networky", McGruder began to tell stories in the series. The Boondocks is a fictional story about a black family, the Freemans, who have settled in a mostly white suburban neighborhood of Woodcrest, Illinois. The main characters are Huey and Riley, two boys who live with their granddad. Huey is more of the level headed character with a revolutionary spirit. Riley, on the other hand, is more of the loud-mouthed character with a short fuse. They are two preteen boys who must face many obstacles in their daily lives that often get them into deep trouble with the people of Woodcrest. It is worth the view if one is looking for a show that offers a perspective that mixes cultures, social classes, racial identities and stereotypes to provide for a very satirical portrayal of comedy and conflict. A.) The executive producers of this show is Aaron McGruder, Reginald Hudlin, Rodney Barnes, Brian J. Cowan, and Carl Jones. B.) The show has been distributed through Cartoon Network, Adult Swim, Sony Pictures Entertainment, and is currently available to stream on Netflix and Amazon Video.

Cochran, Lyndi (TTh) The Venture Brothers 100

The Venture Brothers incorporates old favorites like The Hardy Boys, The Incredible Hulk, Nancy Drew, Batman, Scooby-Doo, and more into an adult animated series exploring a more believable side to the thought of having an arch rival. Rusty was a boy adventurer, (not unlike Johnny Quest), in his youth and went on explorations with his father Jonas. Although being a boy-adventurer was a beloved past time, it turns out that forty-something year-old Dr. "Rusty" Venture really is not cut out for the world of super science. He and his over-enthusiastic son's Hank and Dean tolerate attacks from Dr. Venture's less-than-sinister arch enemy The Monarch who has had it out for Dr. Venture ever since they went to State University together. However, their live-in bodyguard Brock Samson is the stuff of henchman nightmares and has created a reputation for himself throughout the OSI (Office of Secret Intelligence) and the Guild of Calamitous Intent. This program is still currently running on adult swim and the seventh season is expected to release in January 2017. "Rusty Joins Group Therapy" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJHEHMDkYpI

Ferris, Emily (TTh) Love 100

"Love" is a romantic comedy that portrays the dating world from a practical point of view from both male and female perspectives by building character development between the stars Mickey and Gus. Mickey, the female lead, is the rebellious one, while Gus is the kind-hearted type. The two contrast in a perfectly awkward way. The show is quirky and fun while also staying in touch with real-world dating situations rather than putting on the hollywood mask of coincidental and carefree love.

"Love" was produced by Judd Apatow, Paul Rust and Lesley Arfin. Apatow is known for The 40-Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, and many more, while Rust and Afrin are the stars of the show itself. The program is funded by Netflix who started their own set of original series of TV shows

Munoz, Vianey (TTh) Barbie Life in the Dreamhouse 100

Barbie Life in the dreamhouse is a tv series about barbie and her friends. The show is set up to be a mock reality tv show. it features character "interviews" throught the episode that let the character explain the situations of the show in their own way. Though this show is targeted towards a very young audience, i think that it can be an enjoyable experience for adults too. The humor that this show displays is very immature and childish but that is what makes it funny. While watching it i found myself judging its stupidity so harshly that it became an enjoyable experience. Theres not much to learn from this show but its a very good passtime (a) executive producers include stephen gallop, rob hudnut, and kallan kagan. (b) Barbie life in the dreamhoue can be found on Netflix, Barbie.com, and youtube. it is produced by arc productions an distributed by mattel.

Cota, LeeAnn (MW) Weediquette 100

Weediquette started out as a web serier on the VICE Youtube channel but soon became a full running TV series. Vice correspondent, Krishna Andavolu hosts the show and is able to put a different perspective on the world of cannabis. He travels all around the US and even parts out of the country to show viewers the various effects cannabis can cause. I believe this show is capable of reaching a bigger audience, although it may seem like a niche series. I think it can help viewers further understand the negative and positive issues/situations that pertain to cannabis use in the US. It is not just a show about a bunch of stoners and potheads. It exceeds beyond that and will undoubtedly teach you more than just about the commercialized recreational use of cannabis. (a) Executive producers of the show include Jordan Roberts, Shane Smith, Eddy Moretti, and Spike Jonze. (b) Weediquette airs on VICELAND, which is a channel owned and programmed by VICE media. The U.S. TV channel is owned mainly by A&E Networks and can be seen through either through the Dish Netowrk or DirecTV which are direct-broadcast satellite service providers.
