"When They See Us" is a Netflix original series that was released in 2019. The show is based on a true story about five youth African American males wrongfully convicted for the rape of Central Park Jogger in New York City in 1989. Going inside the stories of all five boys known as the Central Park Five. The central park five consisting of Kevin Richardson, Raymond Santana, Antron McCray, Yusef Salaam, and Korey Wise. This shows exposing law enforcement being a high-profile example of racial profiling, discrimination, and inequality in the media and the justice system. This show also giving great examples of what it is like growing up as a black male in America. Five young black males never in the wrong with the justice system and media betraying them as killers going through adversity at home, court, and prison.
