Deas, Kori (TTh) Spycraft 50
The Netflix docuseries, Spycraft is the eye-opening answer to a lot of our questions. Is the government watching us, tracking us or none of the above? The series Spycraft goes into detail on how countries and government officials get their entail on others. They also explain how easy it is to gather entail on the average joe, like you and me. As technology grows it is easier for us to leave a digital footprint. This series shouldn't scare you into throwing all your gadgets away but give you great insight on how to be safe in the technological world we live in. It is also a bit of a history documentary about our nation's past with other countries, for example Russia. It is a for sure must watch and has been such a hit that there is rumor of a season two coming soon to Netflix.
Clarkson, Khari (MW) When They See Us 50
"When They See Us" is a Netflix original series that was released in 2019. The show is based on a true story about five youth African American males wrongfully convicted for the rape of Central Park Jogger in New York City in 1989. Going inside the stories of all five boys known as the Central Park Five. The central park five consisting of Kevin Richardson, Raymond Santana, Antron McCray, Yusef Salaam, and Korey Wise. This shows exposing law enforcement being a high-profile example of racial profiling, discrimination, and inequality in the media and the justice system. This show also giving great examples of what it is like growing up as a black male in America. Five young black males never in the wrong with the justice system and media betraying them as killers going through adversity at home, court, and prison.

Demon Slayer is a Japanese-animated show in a world where superhuman "demons" run rampant through the world at night and devour humans. Tanjiro is our protagonist. In the first episode, Tanjiro's family is killed by demons while he is away. Seeking vengeance, he is set on a path to become one of the elite demon slayers.
Paveglio, Cole (TTh) Young Justice 10
Young Justice is the story of sidekicks such as Robin, Kid Flash, Aqualad and more as they form their own group and learn what it takes to be a superhero. The show follows them as they grow as from hero's that save the small town all the way to when they save the world. It covers mature ideas such as loss of friends/family, PTSD and more so. Young Justice is a must watch for anyone that likes DC superhero's and sidekicks as well as those that are just getting into the DC universe.
Lowe, Wesley (MW) Street Hawk 50
Street Hawk was a short lived TV series from 1985 featuring a cop who doubles as the titular vigilante "Night Hawk". He uses a high tech motorcycle to fight crime.
Bethea, Taylor (MW) Japan Sinks 50
Japan Sinks follows an ordinary family as they try to survive the apocalyptic events of massive earthquakes sinking Japan into the ocean. It brilliantly shows different mindsets that groups of humans encompass while facing their newfound lives. Japan Sinks allows viewers to watch an ordinary family try to sustain their decency and even work to discover what "humanity" means during such brutal events. The animation is in English as well as Japanese and is an Netflix original. Enjoy!

Love, Dillon (TTh) Tyler Perry's House of Payne 50
Tyler Perry's House of Payne is an American sitcom television series created and produced by Tyler Perry that premiered in syndication on June 21, 2006. The series would eventually be retooled and aired on TBS from June 6, 2007, until August 10, 2012. The series revolves around a multi-generational family living under one roof in Atlanta led by patriarch Curtis Payne and his wife Ella. His nephew CJ and kids have invaded the place for an extended stay, and money-challenged son Calvin also keeps showing up, mainly around mealtime and on laundry day. While primarily a comedy, House of Payne was known for featuring dark themes and subject matter, such as substance abuse and addiction. The show is also heavily serialized, with many references to past episodes, creating a continuing story arc.

Stitcher's is a 3-season Freeform original, that revolves around the life of Kirsten Clark and her involvement in a secret government agency. This agency investigates murders by "stitching" into the consciousness of recently deceased individuals to explore their last memories. Kirsten is specifically chosen due to her inability to perceive time. She works alongside neuroscientist Cameron, communications technician Linus, and computer science graduate and roommate Camille in the stitchers program to solve these mysteries.
Pulaski, Kendall (TTh) Defending Jacob 50
Defending Jacob is a crime/drama series that first aired this past April. Main character Andy Barber, played by Chris Evans, is a prosecuting attorney who is assigned the murder case of his son's 14 year old classmate. However, things take a turn when Andy's son, Jacob, becomes a prime suspect in his classmates murder. Andy stands by his son's innocence, but even Jacob's mother begins to question what her son is capable of. The evidence for and against Jacob continues to go back and fourth leaving the viewer wondering if Jacob is guilty.

Upload is and Amazon Prime Original series that is based in the year 2033 were the main premise of the show is that when you are about to die you have the option to upload your consciousness to a virtual after life. In the series we follow a computer programmer, Nathan as he has recently been in a near fatal self driving car "accident" on his journey being uploaded.

Five Came Back is a three-part documentary series (inspired by Mark Harris' 2014 book) about five directors who left their Hollywood gigs to document World War II.
At the time, Nazis produced an incredible system of propaganda made of new technology and cinema . The use of film and propaganda was planned by the National Socialist German Workers Party as early as 1930 and created the first film department. Nazis created a film agenda to control and distract the population and keep everyone in "good spirits".
This docuseries explores five major directors- Frank Capra, John Ford, John Huston, George Stevens, and William Wyler. They dressed in US Army uniforms and used their filmmaking skills to create propaganda films for the government. They wanted to tell the stories of the greatest heroes and the greatest villains on the world stage and their experiences. These five directors knew that people needed to see this footage involving Hollywood, the war, and veteran stories. Steven Spielberg narrates about William Wyler, Paul Greengrass talking about John Ford, Guillermo del Toro about Frank Capra and Francis Ford Coppola and Lawrence Kasdan sharing about John Huston and George Stevens. I thought this was a very creative way to reproduce Mark Harris' book because these directors bring their own perspective of what their predecessors accomplished. It's great how Spielberg and the other narrators interpret the Five's cinematography and style of filmmaking before the war and how they incorporate their techniques into their documenting.

Enter the highly desirable and rebellious Duke of Hastings, committed bachelor who attracts every available lady. Despite claiming that they want nothing that the other has to offer, their attraction is undeniable, and sparks fly as they find themselves engaged in an increasing battle of wits while navigating society's expectations for their future.

Cake Boss is a reality TV show featuring an Italian American bakery based out of New Jersey following the trials and tribulations of Carlo's Bakery. Owner Buddy Valastro's family consists of cousins, wives, brothers, and elders of the family and their continued efforts to make immaculate and intricate cakes, while navigating being a family and the bakery's continued success. Elements throughout the show include doing cakes for high-profile events and clients, marriage, divorce, unexpected pregnancies, and the expansion of their hundred-year-old business into a national hit. The PG show originally debuted on TLC in 2009 when reality television was on the rise and their audience ranged from young adolescents to grown adults.
Sysavath, Gena (TTh) Black Summer 50
Black Summer is a Netflix original that was released in 2019. A spin-off of Z Nation, the show focuses a couple of weeks after a zombie apocalypse breaks out and begins following a mother, Rose in search of her daughter, Anna, after getting separated. She is forced to embark on a dangerous journey with a ragtag team of strangers who are only looking to survive and finding lost loved ones. The show is short and is an excellent watch with other people. The show is very diverse and is still able to highlights problems with the country in a post-apocalyptic setting. All the characters are forced to face their problems with each other and find their means of survival in a newly hostile world on possibly the most dangerous summer of their life.
Rosario, Camilla (TTh) Maniac 50
Maniac is a Netflix original miniseries that was released in 2018. The show is about two people Annie Landsberg, played by Emma Stone, and Owen Milgram, played by Jonah Hill, who both struggle with mental illnesses and become test subjects in an experiment to cure mental illness. This show received an 83% on Rotten Tomatoes and is definitely worth a watch. It's really easy to binge considering it only has 10 episodes that are about 45 minutes long. This show is extremely entertaining because it really makes you think about each character and what they are going through. I would give this show 5 stars!
Clark, Isabel (TTh) Bling Empire 50
Bling Empire is a Netflix original that focuses on the life of wealthy Asian-Americans living in L.A. The reality show follows the extravagant lifestyle including parties, trips, and shopping sprees. You see the development of new friendships, as well as tensions between others. You follow Christine Chui, one of the main stars of the show, trying to upstage the oldest and wealthiest of the group, Anna Shay. Christine does this through parties, comparing her jewelry, and public ridicules in front of the other members. The show also includes relationship drama as one member struggles to try and leave her toxic relationship, and another tries to convince the father of her two children to propose to her. The show also includes members trying to find missing family members and supporting each other through that difficult time. Overall, the show features a lot of heartfelt moments, exciting parties, and drama that will keep you bingeing.
Mendoza, Andrew (TTh) Bonding 50
Bonding is a show that that revolves around the world of BDSM. The main character Tiff is a dominatrix and throughout the show, she demonstrates the reality behind the BDSM world. When people think of sex work their minds go straight to prostitution which is not how all of sex work actually is. This show does a great job demonstrating the way that sex work has evolved within society and how it has impacted people that are into things that are not seen as normal by a majority of people. Bonding is a comedy that gives a whole new perspective of what we might think as "different."
Ford, Kourtney, (MW) Emily In Paris 50
The show I chose is about a girl named Emily who gets sent to Paris for a job. She is faced with winning over a boss that doesn't want to give her a chance. Emily comes up with many sales pitches that don't always go the way she planned. But some end up help further her business goals. Along the way, she gets involved in a complicated romance and friendship. Emily is dedicated to her job and will do anything to make her successful.
