Mare of Easttown is a seven-episode HBO mini-series that explores the life of Mare Sheehan, a small-town Pennsylvania detective. Throughout the show, Mare is investigating the murder of a teenage mom while dealing with the tragedies of her personal life -- she's divorced, her son died by suicide, she doesn't have the best relationship with her mother and she is in a custody battle with her ex-heroin addict daughter-in-law over her grandson.
