La Boy, David (TTh) American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior

This is a spin off of the original American Chopper, when Paul Sr. and Paul Jr. (his son) had a fight and Jr. was fired from his position at Orange County Choppers. The show followed Sr's shop, along with the new shop of Paul Jr, Paul Jr. Designs. Both shops do custom choppers (motorcycles) and go above and beyond anyone's thoughts and imaginations. It started off as a legal battle between the two, which tore the family apart and still has a large impact on the way they each live. Although it is settled, the two have a business to run and both make great bikes. The clip is a promo of the show which explains the premise of it.

La Boy, David (TTh) Man v. Food

Man v. Food is hosted by Adam Richman, which is about exploring different places across the nation who offer unique foods and challenges that not many people have completed. He will try either food that is extremely spicy or just large quantities of food. The show is interesting because first is shows the community around these certain restaurants, then it goes into the restaurants and shows what the challenges are and how the food is made in the kitchen. I enjoy this show, being a foodie because it shows the uniqueness of restaurants and the creativity of the people. This clip is from when Adam went to San Antonio and talked about the cinnamon roll from Lulu's Cafe, the giant pizza from Big Lou's and the spicy four horseman burger from Chunky's.

La Boy, David (TTh) Inside West Coast Customs

Inside West Coast Customs is a show that airs on HD Theater about this car remodeling company that was started by Ryan Friedlinghaus on a loan of $5,000 from his grandfather. Now It is a well known company that customizes cars for people such as Mark Wahlberg to Justin Bieber. I am a fan of custom cars and have been for a while, and the things they do on this show exceeds my expectations every time. It's Great work and a great show on the process of doing everything. The company has now made an agreement with Best Buy to sell products in their stores, such as cleaning kits and audio parts.

La Boy, David (TTh) The First 48

The First 48 is a documentary that comes on A&E that is filmed around the United States. It is about the real life work of homicide investigators, but mainly focuses on the first 48 hours of their investigation because the chances of solving a case after the first 48 are cut in half. There has been a few spin offs of the show which are: After the First 48, which discusses the persons being convicted in the episodes of the First 48; and The First 48: Missing Persons. It's interesting to see the tactics of homicide detectives and the importance of every little thing in an investigation.

La Boy, David (TTh) Apocalypse Man

Apocalypse Man is an American television program that began in 2010 on History Channel. It's hosted by former Recon Marine Rudy Reyes, in which he shows us how to survive the aftermath of the end of the world. In the pilot episode he shows us how to siphon gas using a bike pump, makes a grappling-hook from a tire iron and rope, creates fire with a battery and steel wool, and shows us how to  break down a door (breaching style). I used to watch an HBO mini series called Generation Kill in which Rudy played himself as a recon marine and when I heard he had his own show, I had to give it a try and it turned out to be pretty interesting. This is the first part of the pilot, but the first couple of minutes explains what the show is about and why we need to pay attention.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyZuvLo4eJA

La Boy, David (TTh) Ghost Adventures

Ghost Adventures is about a group of 3 guys who research and stay a night in the most haunted areas around the nation and sometimes overseas. Some may believe, while others believe it's fake.Regardless, it's really interesting if they catch EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) or visual evidence and it's also really interesting seeing 3 grown men running around yelling at ghosts and sometimes screaming as if they were children. This is a clip of the most interesting evidence I've seen from them. It's a brick being thrown across the room as they are entering it. The brick is on the bottom left hand side of the screen, and is thrown quickly and then the team reacts to it.

Chaky, Adam (MW) Parking Wars

Parking Wars is a reality television series which airs on the A&E television network. The program follows traffic enforcement employees as they ticket, boot, and tow cars as part of their parking enforcement duties.
The show began airing on January 8, 2008. The sixth season premiered February 11, 2012. It is just a funny show to watch.

Cooper, Nathan (MW) Friendzone

I want to present on MTV's new series Friendzone. It follows the typical reality-ish type of shows the MTV is notorious for. In this show people ask out a person who is just a friend that they have a crush on. Pretty much the point is to see if they will actually be successful, or get turned down and end up in the

Friendzone. http://www.mtv.com/videos/misc/700576/friendzone-trailer.jhtml#series=2214&seriesId=37125&channelId=1&id=1672377

Chaky, Adam (MW)" Sons of Guns"

Sons of Guns is a reality television series that airs on the Discovery Channel. The series centers on Red Jacket Firearms LLC, a Louisiana-based business that manufactures and sells custom weapons. Will Hayden is the founder and owner of the shop, while his daughter and partner Stephanie manages the office. As on the Discovery Channel series MythBusters, this show practices a degree of self-censorship and safety-consciousness. Each episode begins with a staff member (usually Will) warning viewers not to try anything demonstrated on the show at home. In addition, during scenes of catastrophic failure, the crew will remind the audience not to try anything at home. The program also makes a noted point to avoid showing specific detail of how weapon modifications or fabrications are performed.

Flores, Ashley (TTh) Scare Tactics

I'd like to share the show Scare Tactics with the class, which airs on the SyFy channel. Comedian Tracy Morgan hosts the hilarious show of people set up by their friends/family and are placed in a staged and scary situation. The horror hoaxes are designed to tap into the fears of the person who's set up. Hidden cameras are placed around the setup, so it makes it funny for the viewers at home to see the person's reaction once in the "scary" situation. This clip shows how a "victim" becomes terrified. Definitely a funny show at other people's expense.

Chaky, Adam (MW) Gold Rush

Six burly men with even burlier beards  "hit hard by the economic downturn" brave the wilderness in "Gold Rush: Alaska," which, shockingly, doesn't come from producer Thom Beers but looks like it should. Adding to the growing niche of crab-catchers, oil-riggers and ice-road truckers, the series hinges on a group of grizzled Oregonians who bet it all on finding gold before the $150,000 they've raised to fund the operation runs out. Weighed down by clunky narration, the producers labor mightily to generate suspense but never quite strike the mother lode.

Flores, Ashley (TTh) Impractical Jokers

I would like to talk about the show Impractical Jokers which airs on truTV. The show will be going on its second season starting March 29th. This reality comedy is made up of four friends who dare each other to do ridiculous things. Each person has to SAY and DO what the others tell them to do. It's a funny series because their outrageous stunts are recorded by hidden cameras. For those looking for a laugh, this will do the trick.

Flores, Ashley (TTh) Mythbusters

I'd like to tell the class about a show called Mythbusters which airs on the Discovery Channel and will be starting its new season this March 25th. Mythbusters aims to uncover the truth behind popular myths and legends by mixing scientific methods to experiment and test out the myth. This show is not only educational, but has its funny moments as well. This video is a look at one of their new episodes.

Chaky, Adam (MW) The River

Famed explorer Dr. Emmet Cole (Bruce Greenwood) went looking for "magic" deep in the uncharted Amazon basin and never returned. The shocking truth about his disappearance is out there, somewhere, just waiting to be discovered. To the millions of kids who grew up watching his nature show, Dr. Cole was a hero. To his own son, Lincoln (Joe Anderson), he was more of an enigma. Now, six months after he vanished, Lincoln is finally ready to bury the past when Dr. Cole's emergency beacon suddenly goes off. At the urging of his mother, Tess (Leslie Hope), Lincoln reluctantly joins her on a search for his father. To fund the rescue, they agree to let Dr. Cole's cagey ex-producer, Clark (Paul Blackthorne), film the mission documentary-style. The mixed crew of old friends and new acquaintances includes the missing cameraman's daughter, Lena Landry (Eloise Mumford), Magus mechanic Emilio Valenzuela (Daniel Zacapa) and private security bodyguard Captain Kurt
Brynildson (Thomas Kretschmann).

Flores, Ashley (TTh) American Pickers

I would like to tell the class about a show called American Pickers that comes out on the History channel, Monday nights at 8 p.m. Friends Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz drive across America and earn a living by restoring forgotten relics, transforming one person's trash into another person's treasure. They meet quirky characters and hear their amazing stories. It also tells us about American history along the way. In this clip, Frank and Mike meet a motorcycle collector.

Cooper, Nathan (MW) NBA TV: Open Court

I want to present about NBA TV Open Court. It was a six-part series that aired on NBA TV at the beginning of the NBA season. It was  a pannel of past NBA players like Charles Barkley, Shaquille O'Neal, and Reggie Miller. The panel discuss topics about their careers such as who were the biggest trash talkers they played against, who were there biggest rivals, and what life in general was like as an NBA player. The show is interesting because it is not often that you get to see professional athletes talk amongst themselves and tell personal stories about their careers.

Cooper, Nathan (MW) Rotten Tomatoes

I want to present on the website Rotten Tomatoes. It is a website that combines reviews from multiple different movie critics to give movies and tv shows agregrate scores. It has very interesting articles as well on upcoming movies and movies of the past as well. Also like IMDB, it can be used as a database for movie/tv show information and bios on actors, directors, etc.

Perna, Austin (TTh) The Soup

I would like to talk about my favorite show called The Soup. It's a show hosted by Joel McHale, and aired on Wednesday nights at 10 eastern/9 central pm. It takes clips from reality shows, talk shows, tv dramas, and anything else you can imagine and puts the often hilarious commentary of Joel McHale to make an awesome show.

Cowan, Melina (MW) Merlin

Merlin is a BBC TV series that shows on Syfy on Friday nights. It is about a teenage boy, Merlin, who is learning he will become a great wizard. He is a servant for the prince Arthur, who is very prideful and stubborn, and Merlin can hardly stand him, but soon finds out he has to keep him safe at whatever cost because their two lives are intertwined. Magic is not allowed in Camelot and so Merlin must always defeat magic with magic while at the same time acting as if he is just a mere servant who doesn't know anything. It is funny and has lots of action and is a great show in my opinion.

Monsour, Michael (MW) Portlandia

I would like to do my show report on IFC's Portlandia. It is a show that has different scenerios kinda poking fun at the "Hipster" and very environmentally cautious crowd and how some take it to far and its just plain funny to laugh at. It has a cast member from SNL (Fred Armisen). It is in its second season Fridays 10pm/9pm central. This clip shows the two stars wanting to know how organic the chicken is, and if it  is local to the area, and then they just decide to go see where the chickens grew up to make sure it was a happy place.

McKinney, Kelsea (MW) Pretty Little Liars

Pretty Little Liars is a drama on ABC, based on a series of novels written by Sara Shepard. It's based around four very different girls who have a fall out after the mysterious disappearance of their friend Alison, the clique's leading lady. When the find of she's actually dead, the join back together, but shortly after, one thing bizarre thing after another starts happening. Each of them begin getting text messages from a stranger by the name of "A", who somehow knows way to much about each of the girls, sometimes putting them in all kinds of crazy situations to keep them from being exposed. For ABC, it's a pretty intense show, aimed at the younger female audience. None the less, the never ending mysteries and shocking secrets make it easy for anyone to get into!

Project Free TV is a website that takes links to almost any tv show one may want to watch as well as movies and puts it into one place. It is a movement to try to enforce that tv programming always be free. I usually watch it because it has links to any TV show I can think of and then seperates that tv show into seasons. It has multiple links for each tv episode so if one link does not work then I always have three or more links to choose from. Here is the link to the website and I hope you find it as beneficial as I do.

La Boy, David (TTh) Undercover Boss

The show's format is based on a senior executive of a company working undercover in their own firm to investigate how the company really works and identify how it can be improved, as well as rewarding the hard working staff. It has had some large franchises on there, as well as smaller companies. It is interesting to see how the big boss reacts to the inter-workings of their companies. This clip is from the episode with the restaurants Checkers and Rally's, and the CEO discovers that the restaurant is not running as intended and the boss was not treating his employees with respect.

La Boy, David (TTh) The Colbert Report

Stephen Colbert is a humorous news anchor of "The Colbert Report," which discusses the big issues going on in the United States and the rest of the world. Colbert started off as a news correspondent for Jon Stewart on the Daily Show, and now as a spin off of that, has the Colbert Report. Colbert is always in character as a ring wing pundit and extremely patriotic. The reason why I enjoy this show is hearing a comedic side of the news is always a good thing, I feel like if you know what's going on in the news, you will enjoy this show and the comedy incorporated in it.

This clip was from last year, which talks about the occupy movement.

La Boy, David (TTh) Person of Interest

This series revolves around a former Green Beret and CIA agent (Mr. Reese) recruited by a billionaire (Mr. Finch) to prevent violent crimes in New York. Mr. Finch designed a computer program to predict terrorist threats to prevent another 9-11 type disaster, but he found out it also provided data for non terrorist crimes. This program provides social security numbers of individuals who may be in danger, or those who are the threat. The investigation is done by Mr. Reese to find out which one it is, and to prevent it. It's a great show, sometimes has it's down episodes but overall it is a great show.

Winston, Charles (TTH) Misfits

I would like to make a presentation of my favorite TV series, Misfits. Misfits is a British science fiction drama television show about a group of young offenders sentenced to work in a community service program, where they obtain supernatural powers after a strange electrical storm. The show follows their individual lives and the ridiculous situations their super powers get them in. I think the show would be great for people to watch because it is a British show and it is interesting to see how shows are made differently. It is not broadcasted in the United States but every episode is free on Hulu (you don't need a subcription). They are also currently in the works of making a US version of the show.

Humphrey, Staci (TTH) SUITS

USA's television show SUITS is about a college dropout that got up in a bad drug deal and has excellent photographic memory. When he then gets an interview with New York's best legal closer who recongnizes him for his ability and takes a gamble on hiring him onto his staff. Harvey Spector (Gabriel Macht) was supposed to hire a Harvard graduate, but chose to go against the "cookie cutter" school of law and hire Mike Ross. He comes off has a "blood shark" and tries to enforce that same mind state into Mike Ross (Patrick Adams) while he becomes emotionally attached with every case. The two of them end up making a winning team keeping secrets away from everyone including management in the practice. It is an interesting show and keeps you wanting more while each episode pertains to a new case. College students with Ross' same experience might feel connected in the glory of succeeding without a degree.

I want to do a presentation over Spartacus -
In the first season of Spartacus Blood and Sand an unknown Thracian and his wife are captured and the Thracian man is sent to die in the gladiator arena; however, he winds up winning the battle with his hands tied and no weapons and Batiatus (a man who buys slaves and makes them fight in the arena to win) decides he wants to buy the Thracian man. Batiatus then names the Thracian man Spartacus. Spartacus is then stubborn headed and refuses to fight so Batiatus promises Spartacus that he will find his wife and reunite them if Spartacus fights and wins the battles. At the end of the season Spartacus is to be reunited with his wife; however, an attack happens ordered by the Romans that Spartacus is unaware of and his wife dies. Spartacus later finds out Batiatus had arranged the attack so Spartacus and the rest of the slaves decide to kill everyone in charge.

I would like to do a presentation on one of my favorite shows called Glee.  According to Wikipedia, Glee is an American musical comedy-drama television series that airs on Fox. It focuses on the high school glee club New Directions competing on the show choir competition circuit, while its members deal with relationships, sexuality and social issues. It's one of my favorite shows because they deal with real teenage issues that I think a lot of people can relate to.  The show was a tremendous hit.  Glee has it's own clothing line at Macy's, it went on an international tour, and has a 3D concert movie.

I would like to tell the class about a show called Pawn Stars, which airs on the History channel Monday nights at 9 p.m. A family run business out of Las Vegas, grandfather, father, and son must deal with all different kinds of customers looking to sell their items. If the price isn't right or the item is just too weird, the Pawn Stars just can't take the risk of buying it. The show is very informative because you usually here the history of a piece brought in to the pawn shop, but the show also has its funny moments between its characters. This clip is about Corey trying to the explain Facebook to the "Old Man", Richard.

Children's Hospital is actually fairly indescribable.  It's a fifteen minute live action program that comes packaged in Cartoon Network's Adult Swim line-up.  The formula seems to be to pack as many jokes as possible in a rapid-fire manner and no subject is taboo.  It spoofs every hospital show, from ER to Gray's Anatomy and St.Elsewhere.  There is a complete lack of continuity, as some episodes have featured the cast members playing fake versions of themselves in a "behind the scenes" type documentary based in a world where there is a real dramatic program called Children's Hospital.

The show was created by The Daily Show alumni Rob Corddry and features him the always excellent Megan Mullally, Ken Marino and various other recognizable faces from the comedic actor world.

Elmore, John (MW) The Life and Times of Tim

The Life and Times of Tim is an animated comedy that seems like HBO is just itching to be done with.  It's basically a surprisingly hilarious animated version of Curb Your Enthusiasm.  Creator Steve Dildarian stars as the titular Tim, a guy who seems to always trying to be doing the right thing, but getting the short end of the stick for his reward.  The League's Nick Kroll plays a regular character and guest stars regularly include any number of semi-famous names from the current comedy scene.

I just realized that I haven't included showtimes in any of the emails I've been sending you for these presentations. Rest assured I will have this information ready to present.  In any event, all episodes of The Life and Times of Tim are available on HBO Go.

Elmore, John (MW) Fringe

Fringe, created by JJ Abrams, began as a routine X-Files-esque supernatural procedural.  The first season's formula typically involved a different "monster of the week" scenario with two  FBI agents assigned to a "Fringe Division" to investigate things outside of regular law enforcement's bailiwick.  The partners were teamed up with John Noble's character, Walter Bishop, a typical mad-scientist trope type character who'd spent the better part of the last two decades in a mental institution.  To get him involved, they had to recruit his son Peter, p layed by Joshua "Pacey" Jackson, a ne'er do well type who quickly made himself useful to the unit.

But the show took a hard left turn as the first season ended.  Rather than sticking with the procedural route, they began building an excellent mythology involving alternate universes, criminal masterminds, and massive corporations bent on world domination. This has, in turn, given most of the performers on the show to play multiple versions of themselves, with outstanding results.  I really can't speak highly enough of the performances by all of the actors in this show and it's a crying shame that John Noble hasn't gotten an Emmy for it.  The show is at times really scary, usually humorous, but oddly enough, very touching.  The central theme seems to be loss and how we deal with it, and I'm not ashamed to say this is the only thing I watch every week and am guaranteed to get a little weepy at some point.

The clip I'm including is a mash-up of "The Observers," strange beings in the show whose presence has actually yet to be fully explained.  I'll go ahead and say this may serve as a teaser to anyone who wants to get involved in a show that is as dense as Lost was and may end up leaving as many unanswered questions, as it's a total toss-up right now as to whether the show will get another season.  Full disclosure: I say this as an unapologetic Lost fan and will defend it to anyone.

Elmore, John (MW) Top Chef

Firstly, I am an avowed non-fan of reality competitions.  Top Chef, however just kind of fits into my wheelhouse.  It's got the typical "reality" elements: editing to make sure there's a lot more drama than probably actually occurs and lots of stress (such as sleep deprivation) on the competitors.  For any foodie, the program is food porn at its best.  When the show began it seemed to be another Hell's Kitchen, featuring a lot of line cooks and also-ran type career chefs.  But as the years have progressed, it's attracted the attention of true rising stars in the culinary world and has become somewhat of a prestigious competition to win.

Chef Tom Colicchio makes for an excellent host due to his deadpan sarcasm and knowledge of his craft.  As do Gayle Simmons and Padma Lakshmi, for reasons pertaining to eye candy, razor sharp wit and general familiarity with the subject matter.  Each season usually features a guest chef joining in for the judging (most memorably by the somewhat jerkish but always entertaining Anthony Bourdain).

Elmore, John (MW) Southland

Ahh, Southland.  Another in the list of huge mistakes that NBC has made over the past few years.  They kept it around for a season, then dumped it off to TNT.  It's now in its fourth season on the cable network and the critical acclaim has increased every year according to Metacritic.  It would seem at first viewing to be  basic cop procedural that typically is structured to follow two different narrative arcs per episode.  One follows the patrol officers and the other the detectives. But I've heard it more accurately described as a series of vignettes involving the day to day mixture of horror and general jerkish behavior that police officers are forced to endure.

In my opinion, the standout actor of the show is Michael Cudlitz (probably best known from Band of Brothers), and also features great work from Regina King, Benjamin McKenzie, C. Thomas Howell and Shawn Hatosy. It's just an all-around good police show for people who aren't so much into the CSI-type predictability.

I've included three linked clips, depending on what you think would be most appropriate for class: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmnfE6Cz4U4, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_GArtHdgUs&feature=related, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AZU9Cr0Usk&feature=related

Elmore, John (MW) Luck

HBO's new program Luck is not for everyone.  It centers around the activities of the Santa Anita racetrack and the various strata of characters involved with that lifestyle. This includes compulsive gamblers ("railbirds," in the show's parlance), horse owners, trainers, and jockeys.  The show was created by two persons whom I consider to be geniuses in their fields: David Milch and Michael Mann.  Mann's contribution is that if nothing else, the show is almost hypnotically beautiful to watch.  The production values are as good as they come.

Milch's part in the show is why I mention that it may not be for all tastes.  Milch made his bones on Hill Street Blues and NYPD Blue and went on to create the late, lamented Deadwood.  And the not-so-lamented John From Cincinatti.  His dialogue takes a LOT of getting used to, featuring lots of insider lingo and confusing conversations.  I like this because it makes the show reward repeat viewing.  I know there's a current trend towards the "novelization" of dramatic television, usually credited to beginning with The Sopranos, but probably best exemplified by The Wire.  This program feels less like that and more of a season-long movie so far.  All I can say is five episodes in, I'm completely hooked.

It also doesn't hurt that the cast includes Dustin Hoffman doing some of his best work ever as well as Nick Nolte and  Dennis Farina.

Trailer link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uG_u7ZjKF0s

Elmore, John (MW) Archer

In my opinion, Archer is hands down the funniest thing on TV right now.  It was created by Adam Reed (known for Adult Swim cult favorites Frisky Dingo and Sealab 2021).  It's an animated program that follows the misadventures of a freelance spy organization and features a great cast of voice actors including Arrested Development's Jessica Walter, SNL's Chris Parnell and the standout talent H. Jon Benjamin who plays the titular Sterling Archer.

The linked clip (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9x6KApzgtjU) is almost seven minutes long, and while I think every second is enjoyable, I can see how that might be pushing it a bit, so I'd be fine with stopping it whenever.

Elmore, John (MW) Instantwatcher

I'm not sure if this qualifies for a presentation; however, it's extremely relative to the material from class. www.instantwatcher.com is an extremely useful tool for anyone who uses Netflix streaming. They provide an easy to use database of what movies or television shows are currently available to Netflix streaming customers.  Information is selectable by genre, popularity, what's new or what's about to expire. The reason I don't know if it's useable for a class presentation is that I have no video clip for it, but I believe it to be germane to what we're studying.

Elmore, John (MW) Terriers

Terriers was a show that that lasted for one season on FX.  It was the brainchild of Ted Griffin (writer of Ocean's 11 and other feature films) and Shawn Ryan, the creator of FX's excellent series The Shield.  It was unfortunate that Terriers was cancelled after one season, but FX president John Landgraf has gone on record saying they did a horrible job marketing the show.  As luck would have it, the writers knew there was a chance they wouldn't be renewed, so it works really well as a 13 episode miniseries, all conveniently streaming on Netflix. The clip for presentation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tkb8h5P3-zw

I just realized I didn't really describe the show (nor did the promos for it).  The show is about two private detectives (an ex-cop recovering alcoholic played by Donal Logue and an ex-criminal portrayed by Michael Raymond James) and basically starts with a minor case that leads to a season-long investigation of a much larger scale crime.  It features a lot of well-known character actors and some of the wittiest dialogue I've ever heard on a series.

Elmore, John (MW) The AV Club

The AV Club (www.avclub.com) is a sister publication to the satirical Onion.  However, the website is a goldmine for pop culture junkies like myself, specifically their television and film reviews.  They provide consistently well-written analysis of programs currently airing as well as shows that have been off the air for years.  They also do weekly "Best Of"  breakdowns of podcasts, which I'm assuming also count as and up and coming form of electronic media programming. Here is the link for the video clip I would use for class http://www.avclub.com/articles/how-i-met-your-mother-eastbound-down-and-an-act-of,69902/.  (BTW, this clip does use one instance of the F-word, so I can provide this one as well if the other is unsuitable for class. http://www.avclub.com/articles/revenge-raising-hope-and-a-historic-meeting-for-pa,69507/

Caraveo, Reyna (MW) Workaholics

I would like to do my presentation on the Comedy Central series, Workaholics. This show focuses on three characters, who were roommates in college, and continue to live together while trying to transition into the real world. They are unmotivated, hilarious characters: Blake Henderson, Adam DeMamp, Anders "Ders" Holmvik. The characters names are just re-creations of the actual actors names. The show is also predominantly written by the three main characters. It incorporates random, funny occurrences throughout the daily lives of the characters and mainly discusses inappropriate content. The setting of the show is mainly confined to the characters' house or workplace. The show is beginning its third season with new episodes airing in May 2012.

Rains, Morgan Danielle (TTh) Bored to Death

Bored to Death ran from 2009 to 2011 on HBO on Sunday nights. Sadly, last December it was cancelled. Bored to Death was created by author Jonathan Ames and the shows stars Jason Schwartzman as a fictional Jonathan Ames-a writer based in Brooklyn, who moonlights as an unlicensed private detective on Craiglist. The show also stars Ted Danson as George, and Zach Galifianakis as Ray, both friends of Jonathan. This show is really goofy and hilarious and I highly suggest watching it despite the fact that it was cancelled you can still find all the episodes on HBO Go or purchase the DVD's from the HBO website.

Rains, Morgan Danielle (TTh) The Big Bang Theory

The Big Bang Theory aired in 2007, and comes on CBS on Thursday at 7 pm (central). This TV show is centered around five characters:

-Penny: blonde waitress who strives to be an actress that lives across the hall from Leonard & Sheldon
-Howard and Rajesh: geeky friends and co-workers of Leonard & Sheldon. Howard is an aerospace engineer and Raj is an astrophysicist.
This geekiness and intellect of the four guys is contrasted for comic effect with Penny's social skills and common sense. Also supporting characters in the show currenting are Bernadette, Howard's fiancée who is a microbiologist and part-time waitress with Penny; and Amy Farrah Fowler, a neurobiologist who was matched to Sheldon on an online dating site.

Rains, Morgan Danielle (TTh) Criminal Minds

Criminal Minds is my all-time favorite show. It aired in 2005 on CW, and comes on Wednesday nights 8 pm (central). This is an American police procedural TV show that follows a team of FBI profilers from the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) in Quantico, Virginia. This show focuses on the criminal rather than the crime itself, which makes it differ from other crime dramas. The main characters of the show include: Derek Morgan, Dr. Spencer Reid, Aaron Hotchner, Penelope Garcia, Jennifer Jareau, Emily Prentiss, and David Rossi. They all act as like a family and throughout the seasons, each character is slightly developed.
